NMS - Last 17 trades are Buy's

modernthinker - 18 Aug 2003 10:25

What are the Market Makers up to ??? The last 17 trades put through are all BUYS !

Current total share bought this morning are : 986,460 against 60,000 that have been sold.

I personally think the MM are looking to buy the stock back and sell it later at new highs, just my thoughts.

Like I said the "big" order is really small! The market makers are selling!!! They are selling to Ordinary investers who are buying!!!!!!

LOOK AT THE TYPE OF TRADES - they have O, these are ordinary trades placed with the Market Makers by ordinary investers.

@ Little Women

fair point but....

Market Makers have been know to put through sell orders to attract sellers and vice versa - trade sizes doesn't indicate who is selling/buying, never think trade size means its an investor. I agree most of these buy trades are small investors but MM do play funny tricks, trust me! O - means nothing, MM can put through Ordinary trades!

Please remember alot of buyers are holding back due to thinking it will drop off to about 8.5 because of this delicate area. NMS has been trying to break this level 3 times. This will either breakout in the next few weeks or it will fall back and will be see a sideways trend for another 6 months.

Anyway we need more volume trading and volatility to break the 10p - i think its going to be wait for some good news. NMS as a company i feel is doing well with a strong long term portfolio!

modernthinker - you need to get L2. Market makers don't do ordinary trades, they are not allowed to - they would lose their licence!

They can change the price they buy & sell quite easily and it has nothing to do with the amount of shares that are being bought and sold. They change prices to encourage us to either buy more, and/or sell more shares, they make money on the spread and need to encourage investers to deal. If we aren't dealing they are not making money!
