Woolworths (Pick & Mix) (WLW)

blakester - 17 Oct 2003 17:55

Any thoughts on this old dinosaur? I have a small holding but am looking to top up ahead of the dividend date and Christmas sales. However there seems some resistance around 47p thats making me wonder whether its gonna go anywhere soon...

I think there may be a revival in the offing for the WLW share price!

But I think it may drop to 46 or lower before that happens! So I'm not jumping in as yet!

Peaks in Dec don't look unusual....

Was 3p, now 2p - not bad I suppose but it was bound to go up today with the amount of out of hours trading going on last night. I heard the price target is now 55p

blakester - 23 Dec 2003 17:12 - 11 of 15

Nearly double buys/sells yet a drop of .25p, any thoughts?

stockbunny - 24 Dec 2003 09:53 - 12 of 15

I'm holding WLW for a while yet - but follow your own thoughts
on when you call it a day. There seems to be room for a rise
beyond current levels IMHO

Short term vibes from the retail sector are poor at the moment...this is backed up by Woolworths saying that they will not be issuing a business progress update until their interim in January.
Maybe they are hoping that we all spend with a last minute rush and they may be better placed in a couple of weeks.
The longer term for Woolies looks ok, and there is also someone building up a good stake in them.

i hear this may be takeover target in new year.

anyone also hear.

Boss behind Big W stores has gone - report in Daily Mail today
just under write up on MKS.
Views...
Will they get rid of the Big W stores?
If there is any hope of someone like WolMart buying a piece
of them these stores need to be available to buy. The standard high street
ones are unlikely to appeal to a mega-retailer like that.
