New Charts Package (CHRT)

Felix(MoneyAM) - 12 Dec 2003 10:48

MoneyAM is pleased to announce an update to our chart package.
It now has an improved user interface and many additional features:

- Exponential and linearly weighted moving averages
- Bollinger Bands
- Relative Strength Indicator (RSI)
- Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)
- Fast, Slow, and Full Stochastics

For users on the Active subscription level or above, streaming charts are also available, with an option to generate an audible beep on each price update.

The new user interface lets you tab between different panes to select multiple sets of options:

The first two tabs control the main chart parameters (selected EPIC, graph size, time period) and display options (grid, scale, colour scheme).
The other tabs let you define various technical studies which appear either as additional plots on the main graph (overlays) or as additional smaller graphs displayed below the main one (indicators). The Stochastics studies also get a tab to themselves. The Streaming tab is only available to appropriately permissioned users - it lets you select options for live intraday (streaming) charts which update in real time.
In addition, the system remembers your chart settings during a session and will automatically adjust the EPIC code if you request a quote, research, or news - making it easier to track a series of stocks using your preferred chart settings.
A sample chart with several overlays and indicators defined might look like this:

We hope you enjoy using these new features and we expect to add more charting capabilities soon.

I don't suppose it would be possible to select moving averages of the Open/High/Low as well as the close, would it?

And what about Donchian channels? Like this.

It plots the highest highs and lowest lows over 55 (variable) periods.

I've been using the charts more over the last few days and they seem to work well.
