How would you find out, for a specific stock, the time to buy and the time to sell, I don't mean to buy or sell high but buy in the morning and hold say for tommorows lunch, then sell. I mean not counting the price (well not really the time) - thanks!

I think it depends which stock you are looking at. I have noticed odd patterns in certain shares: they seem to rise first thing in the morning only to fall back by lunchtime or late afternoon.

Take EZJ for example. Last week it traded between 340 and 318 (approx figures from memory) on one day (release of traffic figs) which suggests ample ops to daytrade it within such a range short term. the wider resistance support levels are 390 and 300p if you want a longer term view. ARM is also worth watching, if you can time it right. It regularly moves up and down within a range and is supported around 120 with resistance at various points up to 147p.

I have noticed also that shares of companies due to announce results/figures expected positive tend to fall by end of that day, and vice versa. Notice ICI rose on better than expected news as did AVZ. Next week BSY and a host of others are expected to dazzle so they should be worth shorting. LMC on Thursday could be interesting could go up or down 20% I reckon!
