I am signing up to the following if any body wishes to follow me. I will update and post the league table on this thread. Did ok last season but joined late and was unable to catch up the leaders. Here's hoping for a better result this season!!

The new Premiership season kicks off on Saturday and this year BBC Radio Five Live's Challenge Lawro will be bigger and better than ever! What's more - we've also teamed up with BBC Sport's Football Focus. Tune into BBC One every Saturday from noon for the Premiership pre-match build-up and to hear the presenters give their predictions on the weekends' Premiership action.
Win with Challenge Lawro
The prizes aren't bad either - the Manager of the Month is invited onto Five Live's Drive programme to give Peter Jane and Mark, their footie predictions...and also awarded one of our shiny new Manager of the Month medals. At the end of the season, the player who has scored the most points, will be presented with a special Challenge Lawro trophy by the man himself. They will also be offered the chance to come into our London studios to be a pundit with Mark Lawrenson!
Last season, over 120,000 people registered to play Challenge Lawro. If you think you can take on your friends to be the champion of champions, then get playing now!

Football is now clearly all about money, i have been going to watch my team for 30 years. Well it is now time for me to think about money and i am not going anymore. Why should i spend 40 quid (1 ticket, not thinking about the kids, a pie and a pint), yes 40 QUID, so these jumped up idiots can drive around in porches, ferrari's, and earn more money than they can ever spend on hloidays girls and golf. The british puplic have got to wake to this rip off. The Man u team could not even bother to walk over to the fans that travelled all the way to Romania. Its time to bring them back into the real world. Think about your nurses, emergency services, teachers, doctors, binmen etc. You never hear of a footballer having to wait for a scan or an operation. Sorry, but i needed that moan. What do you think?

Well the kids and wife stopped me from going a few years back. Sometimes its a bit soul searching when your team is not a top flight team and you spend daft amounts following them!! That said I do go when I can for the atmosphere and to shout at the ref a wonderful tonic for a stressful week.
Kivver I sort of agree with your selections. BTW, I'm a Southampton fan!
If any body is on Challenge Lawro give me your user ID and I will post up a table.

Sorry about that scrip, do you think beattie will go? The ironic thing is i've watched B'ham City for 26 years through some of the worst games you could ever imagine, beaten by Altringham, kidderminster and many more. I spent thousands watching home and away all across the country at grounds like swindon, Hull, Stockport. It is such shame now they have reached the promised land i am not going to go anymore. 40 quid a ticket is a disgrace. That could be some peoples disposable income for the week. btw my user name is Kivver on lawro.

Thanks, will add you.
No need to apoligise! I watched my first match in 1974 when I was a nipper. Remember trudging to the ground and paying 1.50 to stand on the terraces, oh how times have changed! Blame the Taylor report for 40 tickets, not forgetting the incredible wage bills!
Last season IMO (some may disagree) Philips looked as sharp as a knife towards the end of the season and Beattie as blunt as a piece of wood. I remember watching the Villa game at home and in the warm up Philips was burying the ball in the net from all over the pitch. Beattie stepped up and blasted the ball over the bar. The difference was stark. Maybe just a confidence thing?
I'm not sure sure we would miss him but it depends what Sturrock has up his sleeve.
I remember watching Crouch in the Villa game and laughing because he looked such a donkey. Then we go and sign him! I couldn't believe it.
Sould be an interesting season.
No longer is our focus staying up, it's making sure we finishing ahead of Pompey. That's all that matters, sod Europe!

Congrats to Dave37 who is off to a flyer. As for my alter ego, now down in 170ish place from 26th. I can't believe even a small number of people have got so many points. The leaders are on 26!!

Cant understand why people are having trouble logging on. It is case sensitive, so you have to write down exactly how you sign on.

I see Southampton are off to a good start. Is this a record, Sacking your manager after only two games. Unreal. I saw on Betfair the odds were 2-1 for him to leave. Never guessed it would be so soon. Next up Graeme Souness.

Cheers scrip. Well its now obvious what the problem is at st marys some bloke called rupert lowe. To come out say the board run the club and two days later say he has gone because of media attention seems a bit weak to me. 10 managers in 10 years is that a record? the love affair with glen hoddle, will it continue.

I think the press are going OTT though. Jones had to leave, Hoddle left to go to Spurs, Grey was never a replacement and Strachen had had enough. So record not as bad as it seems.

Kivver, I"m a Palace supporter, hopefully my portfolio won"t do as badly as them this season, I"ve lost count of how many managers we have had in the last 10 years, Steve Coppell came back 3 times !

Yes and you had my hero Trevor Francis managing you, sorry about that, he did an ok job for my team bham city. But he was a fantastic player, the hairs used to stand up on the back of your neck when he got the ball. I was also very sad to see AJ leave and he seems to be doing a good job for you.

Cheeky Trev was still a fabulous player right to the end with Sheff Wednesday - definitely in my tep ten English players.
