11 When is Antonov to occur the profit area?
We count on a significant income in the year 2005. Our expenditures in 2004 become according to my estimation 4 millions? amounted to. Between 2005 and 2006 after my conviction of the BREAK Even will be reached point. We earn in the form of royalty payments of our licensees. The amounts are with approximately 20 per transmission. According to conservative estimations we need incomes from 200.000-250.000 sold automatic transmissions for the BREAK Even. The market for small cars alone has a Potenzial of 25 million cars. They see that we will earn enormously much, if our patented technology will become generally accepted.
3. Describe our readers nevertheless please once the technical advantages of your new automatic transmission!
Our automatic transmission was developed specifically for small cars suitably and. In this form it is singular in the whole world. There are not really comparable competition products. Everything is patented, so that it concerns only the successful marketing now. I would not like to bore your readers here with detailed technical explanations. The technical details of our inventions are very well after readable on the homepage www.antonov transmission.com.
5. Are there new projects in the current year?
There are plans for different new projects. Our technology turned so far primarily to the segment of the small cars. For this year it is intended, also the other half of the market, the manufacturers of large-scale models to contact.

Article in today's Investors Chronicle. Not too well informed, as I think it implies Antonov's production is dependent on the partner, whereas Antonov had signed production contracts with Gajra, NZWL (Daimler Chrysler's tier-1), Honda and Sitma.

(subscription only)
I believe it also made the mistake of saying Antonov and Torotrak are not competitors. That is maybe true in the 25 million small car market, but the Schmider interview referred to above makes it clear that Antonov are spending this year attacking the large car market now, with the help of a partner, since orders for ACEA by-2008 vehicles will need to be sorted by around the end of this year.

For Daily Mail Motor Review

Here is a good place to start if you don't know much about the market for gearboxes and Roumen Antonov, the Bulgarian nuclear physicist that took quantum physics from Newton's flat space into Einstein's curved space. He also runs the Antonov foundation which is a not for profit organisation aimed at developing his cures for aereriosclerosis, the biggest killer in the western world. Other projects of his, also not part of Antonov PLC, are the Antonov engine, a 4-stroke which fires every revolution for greater efficiency and his car company, which aims to float on the LSE later this year.

I think an Antonov transmission for go-carts would have three gear ratios, not two. So this probably isn't the link between Antonov and Rotax. But its here for information.

Bombardier Recreational Products announces start of Bombardier-Rotax kart serial production in Upper Austria
Gunskirchen, Austria, March 23rd, 2004 - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. ("BRP") announces that Bombardier-Rotax started serial production of the revolutionary ROTAX RM1TM Karts in Gunskirchen, Upper Austria. The RM1 is the first chainless direct drive kart in the world.
It is planned to produce up to 1,000 units by the end of the year. Bombardier-Rotax has the capacity to produce as much as 3,200 karts per year in Gunskirchen.
"The RM1, the only chainless direct drive kart in the industry, constitutes a significant milestone in the evolution of Bombardier Rotax," said Mr. Yves Leduc, Vice President General Manager of Bombardier-Rotax. "We are confident that this new venture will add to our already solid reputation in the marketplace," he added.
The RM1, which was officially launched in January 2002 during the Grand Finals of the ROTAX MAX Challenge in Malaysia, generated overwhelming media interest. The installation of the ROTAX 125 MAX DD2 engine in the RM1 chassis has until now been carried out by the French company Sodikart, which has developed the frame in cooperation with Bombardier-Rotax. Starting this month, the full assembly process takes place in Gunskirchen - from engine production to the complete assembly of the kart.
The RM1 brings together, for the first time in karting, engine, gearbox, brakes, chassis, tires and bodywork in a finely tuned system. Unlike other current karts, this innovative chainless two-speed direct drivetrain does not require any service, such as lubrication or chain adjustment and provides safer and cleaner operation. The RM1 is distributed via an authorised worldwide distributor network.
Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. is a world leader in design, development, manufacturing, distributing and marketing of Sea-Doo watercraft and sport boats, Ski Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Johnson and Evinrude outboard marine engines, direct injection technologies such as Evinrude E-TECTM, Bombardier* all-terrain vehicles (ATV), RotaxTM engines and karts as well as Bombardier* utility vehicles.

The weblink is to KartXpress which is a Dutch website about go-kart racing.
For some reason the Carting website has a link back to Antonov's website.
So maybe Antonov are confident enough in their finanical state (with production due later this year) to be advertising, or maybe the site is bluffing that it has sponsors, in an attempt to attract others.

Antonov signs sponsorship agreement with Chrono Karting
Antonov plc (Antonov or the Company) announces that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with Chrono Karting. It will sponsor the Chrono Karting series of races for at least the coming year. By sponsoring Chrono Karting Antonov aims, together with improving the visibility of the Company and its products, at examining the sporting applications for the Antonov Automatic Drive.
Chrono Karting organises in a wide range of karting competitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany since 1998, including the Rotax Max Challange, World Formula, and Honda Cadet Kids karting competitions. The first Antonov sponsored race in the Chrono Karting series will be the Rotax Max Challenge on Saturday 24 April 2004 on the Amsterdam Karting Circuit.
Roumen Antonov, Antonovs Chairman said: Now that the four and six speed AAD transmissions are being commercialised, we are delighted that together with Chrono Karting we will also be able to examine the sporting applications of our AAD transmissions, an area in which we expect increasing involvement in the short term.
Pieter Kox, a Dutch racing driver and motor sport promoter said: I am delighted to see a company like Antonov getting involved in at the grass roots level of the sport. I expect that this involvement will bring significant technological and commercial benefits to both sides.

Antonov develops new gearbox product for larger cars
Antonov plc (Antonov or the Company), the developer of the Antonov Automatic Drive (AAD), announces that it has completed the initial development phase for a new automatic gearbox, to be known as the DCA (Dual Clutch Antonov). The DCA encompasses fundamental new inventions for which patent protection has been applied. It is designed for larger (+2 litre) automatic drive motor vehicles and can have six, seven or even more speeds if required.
The DCA is now in the prototype development stage. The Company will launch a prototype fitted in a car at the Paris Motor Show in late September 2004.
The Company is now positioned to offer the motor industry a complete range of automatic gearboxes, i.e.:
the AAD range for smaller cars with torque capacities of less than 250 NMs.
the DCA range for motor vehicle with torque capacities greater than 250 NMs.
The new automatic gearbox, which is based on a dual clutch design, is expected to be both smaller and lighter than existing offerings. These advantages translate into a wider application base and lower manufacturing costs. The design is also easily adaptable to four-wheel drive applications, which will for the first time allow Antonov to target the expanding SUV market. It is also suitable for installation in high-speed direct injection diesel engined motor vehicles, another rapidly expanding market segment.
As part of the Companys evolving strategy, the DCA will also be developed as a manual gearbox, again with the option of six, seven or even more speeds. The main attraction of the manual DCA will be its small size and lower weight when compared to existing manual gearboxes. From a manufacturing point of view an important advantage will be the large number of common components that it will share with the automatic DCA, which will positively influence the costs of both units.
Roumen Antonov, the Companys Chairman, said: With the launch of the DCA gearbox we will for the first time be targeting the larger car market, an area where automatic gearboxes already predominate. We also expect that automatic dual clutch gearboxes, because of their inherent advances over conventional automatic gearboxes, will increasingly replace conventional gearboxes. This new development therefore strengthens our commercial position considerably and more than doubles our potential customer base.
