Woodie,
Acording to the AFX,it was an ex chairman (Michael Frye) who sold.

LONDON (AFX) - Widney PLC said its former chairman has sold 1 mln shares at
60 pence apiece, cutting his stake in the company to 10.6 pct.

affc21 he is still a board member gave up chairmans role when joe grimmond took over, never stated in post 6 he was chairman?however that news released on friday has not been negitive for stock,up on a weak market.cheers woodie ps holds non-ex role.

affc21 - 01 Jun 2004 17:46 - 12 of 24

WOODIE,
Thank's for the info,I was not aware joe grimmond is still a board member
(Having read the AFX I presumed joe grimmond was no longer a board member).

Vgood thread,
keep up the good work.

wow, have you seen shares mag today.
States that for year 2005 WDNY are on for 3m profit which equates to a current pe of just 6.....yes 6 for this company.

Even a lowly manufacturer like this should trade over 10, so we are looking for a share price of about 80p/100p minimum & that is without any new contracts.

buy em boys, they may not be this cheao for long.
Expect IC have more positive news tomorrow.

WOODIE - 04 Jun 2004 06:58 - 14 of 24

waiting for ic comments today will they backtrack from sell advice a few weeks ago when share price went up 60%in one day wait for more info on contract bit late if you sold on there advice just shows even in ic mag they can get timing wrong.cheers woodie

WOODIE - 17 Jun 2004 11:34 - 15 of 24

Recruiterrr - 23 Jun 2004 10:14 - 17 of 24

I think it's the fact that people are just realising that they could put their money in this stock, forget it for 12 months or so, come back & they should be double todays price.
Excellent yield of 6% as well. Don't see many stocks on the market like this.

WOODIE - 04 Aug 2004 16:00 - 18 of 24

tau - 20 Mar 2005 17:54 - 21 of 24

woodie, I have not seen the article either, allegedly one of its main tips, but stole some info from 'the other side':

(Title:)

WIDNEY (WDNY)
A new management team has been doing great things, and although the shares have prospered, they still offer plenty of value

The IC's key points are:

Bull Points
Impressive track record
Strong management team
Attractive market niche
Good dividend yield

Bear Points
Belcot division is weak
"Belcot Tool and Die... accounts for 5% of sales and is Widney's smallest division... faces tough competition overseas."
High Gearing (157%) "

not much to go by but explains fridays small price spurt. I still regard WDNY as one of the most reliable stocks in my portfolio based purely on 18month performance.
tau.

WOODIE - 21 Mar 2005 16:40 - 22 of 24

tau sorry for delay in thanking you for info, looks like the same info as when they tipped them last year.cheers woodie

tau - 24 May 2005 18:35 - 23 of 24

results due on thursday. Recent RNS suggests they are in line with expectations, will be interesting to see if they exceed these.

WOODIE - 26 May 2005 09:56 - 24 of 24

nice set of results divi up 200% looks good for full year still good value.cheers woodie
