Barclays or Comdirect seem OK . Anybody use Smile. Recently openned an internet account with them for the interest paid on Current accounts. (Nothing to put into it at the moment but noticed they have share dealing facilities)

Just had a quick look at Smile.

This is the initial information

Brought to you in association with SELF trade, the online stockbroker of the year 2003 according to the readers of Investor's Chronicle
deal online for just 12.50 commission
over 20 tools to help you choose the best shares for you
fund your account and deal immediately using your debit card (before 3pm)
no minimum investment or minimum number of deals
90 days stops and limits orders allows you greater control over your investments without being glued to the markets
24/7 access to your online portfolio

May use it sometime. I think it sometimes sensible not to have all one's eggs in one basket.

If there are users, feedback might be useful.

One of the brokers I use is Hoodless & Brennan. http://www.hoodlessbrennan.com/index1.htm

I also have a account with Comdirect, who are very good, but prefer the
Hoodless & Brennan account because, they have additional facilities to
Comdirect account, plus they actually send all the annual reports, dividend
recipts & voting papers to me - which although Comdirect is supposed to do the
same - they don't.

gerrards, i `ve no problem recommending these,a bit more expensive than some but they will accommodate all types of traders to suit everyone.
