ITIS is emerging as a leader in the supply of satellite navigation data in the information technology industry. They have come up with a new system of gathering real time and historical data called Estimotion. Profits for next year are forecast at 1.6 million but this is without the roll out of this new technology. Cash 6 million. ITIS report they are in a period of high growth.
Estimotion is an Israeli company ITIS purchased for $5m and combines real time and historic data to guide drivers through their satellite navigation systems to their destination avoiding traffic jams and giving the quickest route. They are also able to supply data to other systems including hand held satellite navigation and have contracts with Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood,
Panasonic, Pioneer and Siemens.
There stolen vehicle tracker NavTrak is the best selling in Europe and is fitted to 100,000 vehicles world wide. It has many other functions and further details can be found on the NavTrak web site.
ITIS have 13 three year contracts with major car manufacturers to supply RDS_TMC and combine their data gathering with the AA.
Further announcements are on the way and they also hope to win international contracts with both RDS_TMC and Estimotion. They are in talks with four governments.
Recently they came first in a comparison test with other companies run by the Sunday Times and there have been several write ups in Shares Mag including mention of the global market ITIS is aimed at.
Mobile phone companies will be interested in this one.
Well worth further investigation with announcements on Estimotion and foreign RDS_TMC contracts soon.

Hi there you drunken bum. Only kidding. I found this from shares mag which might help you. The price drop really is a scandal isn`t it! Must be a huge paper wipe out for some people.
It happened after it became clear a trading scam was running on the ADVFN bb. Moneyfinger a well known poster there who posts on most other sites and has been banned from some was stating he had inside information ie access to Trafficmaster RNS's. The scam was aided and abeted by the CEO of Trafficmaster David Martell who posted regularly to support it on the Motley Fool as ColinCowpat. Motley Fool was also used on occations to tell traders to hold overnight due to an RNS coming out the next day.
ITIS contracts became a threat to this lucrative scam of buying huge amounts of Trafficmaster shares before an RNS was known to be coming out and then selling them at a garanteed profit. Trafficmaster themselves tryed to attack ITIS by producing a report showing their on line data was superior. This was quickly leaked on to bb's and used by Trafficmaster insiders to attack ITIS's whole data output.
A campaigne of attacking ITIS by Trafficmaster and Trafficmaster insiders was underway with their danda's up by ITIS audacity of what they considered to be spoiling their money making sceam but it was never a ligitimate money making sceam it was an illigal scam.
Had they not been so greedy and recognised ITIS as a company in the same sector doing well with decent contract wins they would have got away with it. As it is they and David Martell are hunted men.
Does that mean ITIS can`t be written about because of the scandal about to envelope Trafficmaster? Certainly not. Although it has been knocked about a bit it is a quality company and unlike Trafficmaster it has honest managment and is still winning contracts. Estimotion is patented and is to going to make them a world beating company.
As for 60p+ what price would you put on a company supplying stalitte navigation data through in car, hand held and in other ways to all corners of the globe because that is what they are aiming to do.
Shares mag.
ITIS (ITS) 36.25p Buy
My wife is not a happy map reader, especially when the car is moving. So I would love to drive a car that gave traffic directions. Currently there are two main choices in the UK. One from Trafficmaster (TFC) and the other from ITIS.
Trafficmaster had made the early running with its Smartnav gadget. This costs 499 to buy plus 89p per journey inquiry. The voice directions reflect information from Trafficmasters network of sensors on trunk roads and motorways.
Itis is different. It uses a fleet of lorries and cars to pass info back via mobile phone networks. Combined with other sources this is channelled via radio to cars equipped with satellite navigation equipment.
Itis is a publisher rather than a hardware supplier. Until this week the advantage stood with Trafficmaster because Smartnav was cheaper than sat nav kit, whose prices started at over 1,000.
But now Ford has announced a 375 sat nav option for the Ford Mondeo Zetec. This model is designed for the road warriors who do hundreds of thousands of miles per year.
The unit only has a monochrome screen, rather than colour, but Smartnav has no screen at all. Itis receives an upfront fee from Ford and the user pays nothing. The initial Ford deal is only worth 200,000, says Itis chief executive Stuart Marks.
The story really starts to get interesting later this year. Itis has just completed the purchase of an Israeli company that has developed a revolutionary technology. Using pattern recognition algorithms this studies location data from mobile phone networks. It can distinguish between a person travelling by car and somebody on a bus.
The data gives a complete picture of traffic flows in all busy roads. There is no need for expensive networks of sensors. Itis promises a European trial this year. It will then need to sign with one mobile operator per country to give it global coverage.
A supportive note from house broker Altium is expected today or tomorrow. It is coy about forecasts and, in any case, the real opportunity is 2006 onwards.
Most motorists will want this service once the gadgets only cost around 200. If Itis collects just 20 per new vehicle, its UK sales alone would top 10 million. Think of the marital strife this will save.

ITIS's first government contract outside the UK. The first of many using Estimotion. UK roll out next.
ITIS Holdings PLC
02 September 2004
For immediate release:
2nd September 2004
Estimotion Technology chosen for traffic collection in Antwerp
ITIS Holdings plc (ITIS), a leading UK road traffic information specialist are
pleased to announce that they have agreed to work together with The Government
of Flanders, and Proximus, the major mobile network operator in Belgium, to
install a new traffic collection technology for measuring real time traffic flow
based on anonymously sampling the positions of mobile phones in moving vehicles.
This will be the first ever implementation of a traffic probe data system in
Belgium and the project will utilise the Estimotion technology acquired by ITIS
in December 2003. The overall project management is facilitated by the
Telematics Cluster, the leading ITS association in Belgium.
Today most traffic data is available in those areas where loops and cameras are
installed which tends to be on highways and ring roads. The Estimotion
technology will report accurate traffic data on the underlying road network, at
road works and where the loops and cameras do not work. It also has the ability
to provide travel time information on the busiest parts of the road network.
The project intends to demonstrate the advantages of the new approach for
traffic management and traffic information and the technology will be tested in
the Antwerp region.
Fernand Desmytter, Secretary General of the Department LIN said 'Since the
Government of Flanders engaged itself to improve road safety and as well as
traffic flow, it has been welcoming projects which could contribute to reaching
these goals.
Stefaan Van Dyck, business development manager at Proximus says 'Proximus is
very pleased to collaborate in this innovative use of the ITIS and Estimotion
technology enabling the Proximus mobile network to become an important source
for real time traffic data in Belgium. With this project Proximus continues to
play a leading role in developing next generation services'
Stuart Marks, Chief Executive of ITIS Holdings, commented, 'We are delighted
that we have been selected for this project and believes that it provides an
excellent example of how the ITIS and Estimotion technology can be deployed
outside of the UK.'
Jan Cools and Philip Taillieu, Managing Directors of the Telematics Cluster said
'In Belgium, the Telematics Cluster stimulates the use of innovative solutions
for mobility and facilitates collaboration between governmental and industrial
players. Therefore we are very proud to participate in this project between some
of our members.'
NOTES TO EDITORS:
The Government of Flanders has committed itself to
safeguard and guarantee the accessibility of the territory;
improve road safety;
improve the amenity of traffic;
reduce environmental damage caused by traffic.
For achieving this, a system of dynamic traffic management had to be developed.
A first major step towards dynamic traffic management was the founding of the
TCC Flanders, which monitors and manages traffic on the Flemish road network,
and produces traffic information.
The TCC Flanders will participate in this project on behalf of the Government of
Flanders. Its principal tasks will be to validate the FCD data, to investigate
the possibility of incorporating this data in the produced traffic information,
and to map traffic flows.
Proximus, the leader in the Belgian mobile telephony market, had 4,201,000
active customers* (1,759,000 subscribers and 2,442,000 Pay&Go users) on 31
December 2003. Proximus is 75% owned by the Belgacom Group and 25% by
Vodafone.
* An active customer is any mobile telephone user who has sent or received a
call or sent an SMS message during the last three months.
ITIS Holdings plc, listed on AIM, is the UK's leading provider of traffic
information services. ITIS has invested in the development of a unique
system for the collection and analysis of traffic information; it combines
information from the Automobile Association (AA) traffic control centres
with ITIS historic and real time Floating Vehicle Data (FVD(R)) to provide
journey time forecasts and real time updates. ITIS now operates the largest
commercial application of FVD(R) anywhere in the world, and delivers the
content over a variety of platforms including RDS-TMC (Alert C), digital
radio and automated telephone services (IVR) under the AA RoadWatch brand.
Estimotion, Inc. was founded in July 2000 and was acquired by ITIS in
December 2003. Estimotion is now ITIS Traffic Services ltd based in Israel.
Estimotion has developed patented technology which provides a unique and
high quality system for measuring and forecasting real time traffic flow
based on anonymously sampling the positions of mobile phones. Whilst an
individual record of a mobile phone's position is typically less accurate
than a corresponding GPS record, this is compensated by the large number of
mobile phones on any road, knowledge of the underlying road network and the
application of statistical techniques. Estimotion has developed a full
working demonstration site with high success, using live mobile phone data
in the Tel Aviv area of Israel, and has calibrated the results against
traffic simulation models and loop data.
The Telematics Cluster accelerates the use of intelligent telematics
solutions in the area of traffic management, mobility and logistics. The
Telematics Cluster counts more than 50 members today. The members of the
Telematics Cluster form a unique platform, representing all stakeholders of
the business: users, technology suppliers, governments and knowledge
institutes. The Telematics Cluster actively stimulates the collaboration of
private companies with regional, national and European governments for the
implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The Telematics
Cluster was founded in 2003 and is supported by the Government of Flanders,
via IWT-Vlaanderen (Instituut voor de aanmoediging van Innovatie door
Wetenschap en Technologie in Vlaanderen). More information on

Yes, European companies will be reeling but as with all things good we British invent them and others take them up so I don't expect ITIS to stay in British hands for long unless one of the British mobile phone companies gets in quick and buys. Good news all the same and lots more to come over the coming months.
Share price performance disappointing though but then the technology is hard to grasp therefore Estimotions world wide application hard for people to see.

Is estimotions that far advanced from its competitors tecnology wise, and how long before similar product is released from competitors .So will estimotions be competitor free, and for how long will it have chance to get ahold in the market and will normal joe be able to afford and understand it as my granny still has difficulty turning tv on.If there is only 1 horse in the race how can anyone pass it to the winning line unless fallon is riding it.I shall give itis ring ask questions on how it will think it will fair and if its going to book an honest jockey for its race.If as i have know idea about these products is as good as the chaps are saying, what we saying increase in turnover might be we talking big fish or little fish. How much is estimotions valued if going to be such money maker why no takeover or is this as not properly tested.I like the product but as i say have to put some asking questions on this thread .Someone has to.Do any funds if known have any stake in itis. This is going to be third share im investing in, so lets hope third time lucky.Any other sites talking up this ,everyone else cant have missed it.

Lets hope so. Telematics has been very focused on one company TFC because the stream of approved accessory RNS releaces. Taking telematics as a whole ITIS stand out because of the forsight of the management. They think ahead and remind me of that advert, they do exactly what they say they are going to do. Revenuse are coming on stream now from RDS-TMC and here's the good bit NO ONE CAN TOUCH ESTIMOTION it has no competitors and will put the sensor tecnology TFC use out of service.
No wonder ITIS won the UK govenment contract.
Money will roll in now from ITIS's 13 RDS-TMC contracts and from Estimotion.

It is a very significant contract. The first US city to take Estimotion. I now expect it to spread like wild fire across the US and other parts of the world and the share price to reflect that.
ITIS Holdings PLC

9th September 2004
ITIS awarded contract for Estimotion Technology in the USA
ITIS Holdings plc (ITIS), a leading road traffic information specialist is
pleased to announce that it has been awarded a two year contract worth 500,000
by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) in the United States to
deploy its Estimotion technology in the Baltimore region. Estimotion generates
real time traffic flow information based on anonymously sampling the positions
of mobile phones in moving vehicles.
ITIS will license the Estimotion software to MDOT and is in negotiations with
other commercial organisations to sell the data for use in applications such as
in-vehicle navigation and broadcast services. There will be no new overhead
requirement for this project as the software allows all technical support and
implementation to be handled by the existing teams in the UK and Israel.
This announcement builds upon recent contracts to roll out the Estimotion
technology in the UK and in Belgium and is the first time that traffic
information has been collected in the US using this method. ITIS is confident
that a successful implementation in Baltimore will attract other State
Departments of Transportation to employ this technology. Traditional methods of
collecting traffic flow data are not only capital intensive resulting in
significant long term maintenance costs but are also unable to offer reliable
information in urban areas. Estimotion addresses both of these problems and as
a result, MDOT will receive accurate, real time information from the heart of
the city through to major roads and interstates.
ITIS has also agreed terms with a major cellular network partner to support
Baltimore and other cities in the US.
Stuart Marks, Chief Executive, ITIS Holdings plc said 'This is an exciting
milestone for the Company and proves beyond doubt that with our technology and
knowledge of the market for traffic information we can confidently operate in
virtually any city in the world. Congestion is a major problem everywhere and
Governments and the Commercial sector are increasingly trying to find more
efficient ways to access reliable information. We fully believe that ITIS is
set to play a major part in this need for consistent and scaleable traffic data.
For Baltimore to select ITIS for this project is a huge endorsement and I am
confident that we will win further business in the US and internationally.'

I like this line... There will be no new overhead
requirement for this project as the software allows all technical support and
implementation to be handled by the existing teams in the UK and Israel.... Looks like the major costs involved in research & development not relevant to new contracts. Medium to long term shares IMHO.

I am very exited about this company. This Baltimore contract looks like the first of many in the US. It is very impressive that the contract comes with no over heads as all technical support can be done with existing services.
The share price will I am sure begin to reflect the prospects multiple contracts will bring.
Looks sure to be the target of a takeover!
The US have a haphazard way of collecting data which is different in each State. Estimotion has no competition.

Savoy,
How do you know it will be the "first of many?"
Have you any links to back this up, or is it a personal opinion not based on any facts at all?
The Sp will certainly improve once the market believes in the cpmpany, and i would have thought they may want to see another couple of wins first, IMHO.
How can you be sure it will be a "takeover target?"
How do you know their data collection is "haphazard?"
I find it hard to believe that the world's most technically advanced nation has nothing to offer in this respect!

Andy,
A little bit of research ie Stuart Marks comments about international contracts are clear enough where the company is going. It hard to believe the US has nothing like Estimotion but it doesn't. A quick call to ITIS and they will help you out there.
I suppose traffic data collection has never been a priority until now but with growing populations, accidents and congestion it is on every Governments agenda.
Take-over because the technology is new and a multinational would be keen to have such power Estimotion brings. The world in its hands!!! Estimotion also for the first time gives a complete picture including urban areas. This is a real move forward and simplifies data collection and delivery. It is quick and easy to deploy and much cheaper and less time consuming than anything that has gone before. All local authorities, cities and Governments want cheaper outlay. On many levels Estimotion is has all the ingredients of success.
ITIS have also singed up a telecoms company to provide Estimotion to other US cities and there are 2,600 of them.
I agree another couple more contract wins will convince the market.

I like what is happening. I never had a doubt about the company and I have no doubt where the share price is going but I would like to see the newspapers get involved in this story.
TFC Insider share dealing, TFC company employees and management leaking RNS's on bulletin boards, TFC malicious reports and TFC planted press reports, TFC threats to ITH posters and involvement of the authorities. It might also get ADVFN closed down with a bit of luck.

ITIS Holdings PLC
14 September 2004
ITIS Holdings plc ('ITIS' or the 'Company')
AGM Statement
The following statement will be read by Sir Trevor Chinn, Chairman of ITIS, at
today's AGM to be held at Station House, Stamford New Road, Altrincham, Cheshire
at 10.00am.
'Trading has been very strong in the first half of this financial year and we
expect the high demand for our services will continue into the second half. Our
interim results for the six months ended 30th September 2004 will be
substantially better than those achieved in the same period last year as a
result of significantly increased revenues and tight cost controls which have
led to a substantial reduction in loss and reduced cash outflow.
Our business is split between into two main operating areas. ITIS collects
traffic information using Floating Vehicle Data (FVD) and our new Estimotion
technology (which anonymously samples the position of mobile phones in moving
vehicles) and distributes it to the automotive sector, (through RDS-TMC,
cellular networks and via short dial premium line numbers) and to both local and
central Government. NavTrak is our stolen vehicle tracking service and is sold
directly to OEM's and fitted to high value vehicles.
ITIS continues to be the market leader in RDS-TMC services and now has contracts
with Bentley Motors, BMW, Ferrari & Maserati, Ford Motor Company, Land Rover,
Lexus, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Renault, Saab, Subaru Europe, Toyota, Vauxhall
Motors and Volkswagen and in the aftermarket with Alpine, Becker, Panasonic,
Pioneer and Siemens VDO. We expect to announce further contracts during the
remaining part of this year ensuring that we remain the major provider of
RDS-TMC in the UK. As RDS-TMC is an international standard we are investigating
how we can use our knowledge together with the Estimotion technology to support
services outside the UK.
In February this year we announced a three year contract to supply historic FVD
to the Department for Transport and we are pleased to report that the DfT is now
starting to use and distribute our data widely. Both national and local
Government are key areas for ITIS and we will build on this contract from the
DfT to maximise revenues from this important sector.
The acquisition of Estimotion in December 2003 has exceeded our expectations. We
have secured O2 as a network partner in the UK and will shortly be taking our
first deployment in Scotland and expect other cities will follow shortly after.
We are working with the Flemish Government and Proximus, the largest network in
Belgium and last week we announced our entry into the US market with a
strategically significant contract to provide real time traffic information in
the Baltimore region. There is considerable interest from Government and
cellular networks around the world for our technology and we will find a balance
between taking advantage of this interest whilst ensuring that we do not over
commit in terms of resources. We will prioritise contracts where there are
immediate revenue streams and where we do not need to invest heavily in people
or infrastructure. Our preference is for licensing or partnerships with either
the cellular networks who can use the data which we produce to provide services
back to their customers or alternatively, those organisations who have access to
other markets where traffic data can be sold. Next month, under the terms of the
acquisition we will pay the next tranche payment of 816,000.
We believe that there is a huge market for real time traffic information using
our technology and we have proven that we can work outside the UK without the
need to use our own delivery channel. We are therefore focussed on using our
understanding of traffic and congestion combined with our knowledge of specific
applications, like RDS-TMC to support customers with the data they need on a
stand alone basis.
NavTrak is performing well as a result of our focus on manufacturer customers
who include Land Rover, Bentley Motors and Ferrari/ Maserati and is now cash
flow positive on a monthly basis.
The Board are extremely satisfied with the financial performance to date and are
pleased to report that with continued strong demand for our services and greatly
reducing losses our cash balances remain strong.'
