"For immediate release
Hardy Amies plc
Trading update
Hardy Amies PLC, which designs and produces haute couture and licenses the Hardy
Amies name in Asia and elsewhere has, since its AIM debut, made significant
progress in moving the brand into the mainstream and has undertaken a number of
initiatives.
We have developed a unique Hardy Amies fragrance which is expected to be
launched soon. Hardy Amies is in talks with a high-profile chain of specialist
fragrance retail stores to stock the new fragrance on an exclusive basis later
this year.
Hardy Amies men's ready to wear suits have now been added to the Hardy Amies
shirts and ties that have recently been launched in Australia's premier
department store group, David Jones, and are selling well.
Tim Maltin, CEO, and Ian Garlant will travel to Tokyo at the invitation of
Daitobo, the major Hardy Amies licensee for Japan, to attend a press conference
on 4 April 2005 at which Daitobo will commence the re-launch of the Hardy Amies
brand in Asia. Tim and Ian will spend the rest of the week visiting a number of
Hardy Amies' many sub-licensees throughout Japan.
As part of the revitalisation of the brand in Asia, Aussino (Hardy Amies
Master-licensee for China) is currently planning to open flagship Hardy Amies
stores in Shanghai and Beijing in time for the Autumn / Winter 2005 season.
Tim Maltin, Chairman and Chief Executive of Hardy Amies plc, said:
'Following our recent oversubscribed open offer and the subsequent AIM
flotation, I am pleased that Hardy Amies is now moving forward with initiatives
that we have been planning for some time. Recent licensing deals have allowed
the Hardy Amies name to be seen once again in department stores in Australia and
we are discussing similar launches with top department stores in the UK'

New Hardy Amies Fragrance
Hardy Amies has developed a new fragrance (for photograph and further details go to Fragrance section on this website). The Eau de Parfum is currently available at 14 Savile Row for 98.00 and is due to be available from a major UK cosmetics retailer from September this year.
"A perfume with impact; A soft, full, chypre in the tradition of classic perfumes from the great Houses, ....with a new immediacy ... this is not flirtatious, but full on sexual, and in the most luxurious sense. Jasmine and Rose Absolute sit perfectly at home alongside the grandeur of Haute Couture, while the deep warmth of Tabac, Myrrh and Sandlewwod intensifies the Floral bouquet, prefect for the Couture suit.
A fragrance for Grown ups, to be worn at the Opera, in a sportscar, or on a tropical island.... either in Duchess Satin, Tweed or Leather...
or just by itself."

Announcement on Hardy...
"Since 2004, our strategy has been to peg our administrative expenses at an
acceptable level and focus on top line growth, by which the health of our Brand
can be measured. I am therefore delighted to report that Management Accounts for
the half year to end June 2005 indicate total retail sales up 32%. This is
encouraging as licensing sales follow successful retail sales and the rebuilding
of the brand. This is the first significant increase in across-the-board retail
sales at Hardy Amies since 1997 and I anticipate that our retail sales growth
will continue to be strong.
To support the retail sales early in the second half of this year we will be
refurbishing both the menswear and womenswear boutiques within 14 Savile Row and
introducing a new menswear bespoke service. Additionally, we will be advertising
in Vogue, Harpers and Tatler on the women's side and in GQ and Esquire on the
men's side next season. We will also be producing an Autumn/Winter version of
our comprehensive customer Look Book, which proved so successful for Spring/
Summer this year. This will be posted to shareholders in early September.
I am also delighted to be able to announce that we have a new menswear licensing
partner in BMB, who recently purchased the Hardy Amies license from Stuncroft
Brands Ltd. BMB are one of the largest owners of concession space within
leading department stores in the UK. They plan to retail and wholesale Hardy
Amies ready-to-wear menswear, including both formal and casual and sportswear,
from July/August next year.
BMB have also agreed to use their specialist UK factory to assist us in the
manufacture of our hand-made Bespoke suits and our new range of ready-to-wear
menswear which will also be available from 14 Savile Row from September this
year.
Finally, I am delighted to announce that a new Hardy Amies fragrance for women
will be available from both 14 Savile Row and selected Space NK stores from
September this year. Space NK currently has 38 stores and is the UK's leading
specialist retailer of fine fragrance, skin care and colour cosmetics."
