We all need a couple of oilies in our portfolio - this one's not without it's risks but still plenty potential upside.

Oilexco (BUY) looks a stand-out cheap stock. This is partly a reflection of its high asset concentration, with effectively all the value in the UK North Sea Brenda field. While it is not without risk in terms of reservoir performance, the field has been thoroughly appraised and with the key contracts having been signed, delivery of first oil mid-2006 looks fairly secure. Forthcoming exploration and appraisal drilling on 3-4 other North Sea prospects and fields provide a few shots at significant value upside as well.

The Brenda field production startup is weather dependent for the completion of topside work. Sleet and squalls have had some adverse effect but next week there should be an announcment. Any drop in SP IMHO is a buy.

Thanks Alan, it appears we are as you say, awaiting on the weather. It appears
that all remaining work is down to the hands of the Balmoral Floater, connections
and a data cable to be fitted?

A Brenda announcement now would be politically significant for 'smaller' N.Sea exploration companies and just in time for +$60 pb cash flow.

Alan with yesterdays RNS confirming that subject to good weather we will be producing before the end of April,30000bopd to starting in time to above 50000bopd. I think we will see an upgrading of the SP. We also have Kildare discovery, lots of other potential, Ptarmigan appraisal well being most promising, but to me Laural Valley has outstanding potental and if successful would see OIL ratings rocket.
I'm very comfortable with this share.

Around 3 weeks for production from(probably2) Brenda/Nicol project and result of the well presently being drilled in the Laural Valley prospect(spudded on the
28th March and about 30 days to complete).
So an exciting April for OIL, if L/Valley comes up trumps we will have lift off?

From another board, Pat Boswell of International Frontiers a partner with OIL in the drilling of Laural Valley, who discribed North Seas Laural Valley as "Exploration of the Year".
"Drilling is going so well that they could be running logs by the end of next week"?
With Brenda due, could be quite a month?

lOOKING VERY GOOD. SP jumps 6.5% to 388/391p on large buys today. Announcements must be due shortly. Shareholders have a lot to look forward to in 2007 as OILEXCO joins the North Sea Producers.

I hold OIL but I was basing my investment on a 2004 financial report which targets 440p for 5 wells. The recent webpage sets out details for 9 high production wells and proven assets. Looks like I will double up before Brenda comes in!

alanatm2, OIL's biggest drawback has been time delay in bring Brenda/Nicol
to production, apart from lost output it has also been very expensive for the
company. This seems as this will alter next week and possibly Tuesday?
The following info should explain.
President and CEO Artur Millholland is due to give an interview with BNN
at 3-10pm on Monday, would suggest oil is flowing?

Reports from Canada indicate first oil production will be reported on Monday, with flow rates confirmed after one month.
Unlucky, just read an article which states once its broken out of $10 Can,
Funds will be looking for $14. Closed at $10.86/10.67, which works out at 5-06p.
Lots of news to follow, but like all investments nothings certain.
