There once was a little shepherd boy with a girl's name who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the MoneyAM charts. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Derampers! Derampers! The Derampers are shorting the shares!"
The BBers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the shorters away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found nothing worth buying anyway. The foolish little boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.
"Don't cry 'Derampers', little boy," said the BBers, "when there's no Derampers!" They went grumbling back down the hill.
Later, the little boy sang out again, "Derampers! Derampers! The shorters are chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the BBers run up the hill to help him drive the derampers away.
When the BBers saw nothing worth buying they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'derampers' when you've bought a pile of shite penny stock and you're watching the price decay even further before your very eyes"
But the silly little boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.
Later, he saw a REAL shorter targetting about his only good share. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Shorters! Shorters!"
But the BBers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.
At sunset, everyone wondered why the little boy hadn't returned to the village with some loose change. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.
"There really was a shorter here! The price has plumetted! I can't afford my bus fare home! I cried out, "Shorters!" Why didn't you come?"
An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.
"We'll have a whip round for you in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar like you, SueHelen...even when he is telling the truth!"
