OBESITY in the UK (FAT)

ebboarecrap - 12 Jan 2006 23:27

It sickens me to walk down my local high street these days.

Pavements full of obese swines who have no pride in themselves.

This country is heading for a major crisis mark my words.

I had the misfortune to walk down Abergavveny high street the other day and talk about slobs..hundreds of the buggers.

Income tax should be charged on a sliding scale based on ones weight in my opinion.

Fat buggers therefore pay more as they are more of a burden on the health service.

the real thin santa song - warning quite rude no under 18's http://www.office-humour.co.uk/content/files/mp3/the_real_slim_santa.mp3

funny that because the abergavney indoor food market (they dont have it every day) is one of the best i have ever been too. the local produce, fruit, veggies, meat and cakes looks gorgeous.

If you thought Abergavenny High Street was an unfortunate experience then thank heavens you didn't make it up to Ebbw Vale. It paints Beiruit in a good light. I was posted there during my days as a graduate trainee with British Steel and in all seriousness I vividly remember that the local Chinese was prosecuted for serving up cat. The RSPCA and local fuzz swooped after the mysterious disappearance of moggies from the neighbouring town of Tredegar where the chef lived. Et viola, on opening the chest freezer in the Golden Temple, the case was solved. That story made it on to the front page of the Sun and for a single day Ebbw Vale basked in the reflected glory of it's own celebrity chef.

On subject of Abergavenny and food, not only do they have a great market but the Walnut Tree Restaurant was always tremendous but sadly I hear it has now gone to the dogs.

Bloody hell. Ebbw Vale serves Cat Chop Suey and Abergavenny serves Dog Fricasse!!!
What a place.

Fred1new - 13 Jan 2006 17:44 - 8 of 34

Jealous?

hewittalan6 - 13 Jan 2006 17:45 - 9 of 34

Absolutely!!

AdieH - 13 Jan 2006 17:47 - 10 of 34

Cant really see the point of this thread, have to say you have a rather narrow mind...

Does it really matter what other people look like as long as you as a person are happy then what does it matter to you ebbo...

Now if you had posted reference a sliding scale of insurance and what impact that would have on the NHS etc then maybe that would warrant a thread...

and no before you ask I am not overweight and I do attend the gym on a regular basis so for me a sliding scale on insurance cover and health cover would benefit me...

Regards.

There is a real point to this thread.

The NHS will be facing a crisis and it will get much worse as fat people get more and more ill.

Fat people should pay more NI.

jimmy b - 13 Jan 2006 17:54 - 12 of 34

I weigh 23 stone and i think it's great ,Jimmy fat boy b...

Before Ian intervenes on the fact that this thread is not apparently linked to any investment topic, let me introduce a question. What about the role of anti-obesity drugs. I think Alizyme (AZM) were at the clinical trials stage on some. Maybe we could point their R&D team in the direction of South Wales...if we could only persuade the local council of let's say Merthyr Tydfil to start adding test chemicals to the water supply or doctoring the chilli sauce at the local Kebab-O-Rama. Let's face it, it would be far more humane than animal testing. I'm going to contact their investor relations hotline.

This thread should not be pulled.

Its a very serious subject and some medical firm could make a fortune over obesity.

hewittalan6 - 13 Jan 2006 18:08 - 15 of 34

And it stops everyone putting all the blame for NHS costs on poor defenceless smokers like me.

fsainaction - 13 Jan 2006 18:09 - 16 of 34

LOL

aldwickk - 13 Jan 2006 19:27 - 17 of 34

fsainaction - 13 Jan 2006 19:33 - 18 of 34

explosive - 13 Jan 2006 19:38 - 19 of 34

What fat people?

AdieH - 13 Jan 2006 19:44 - 20 of 34

Lol, its turned into a joke thread, thats cool, anyone got any jokes reference skinny people...

explosive - 13 Jan 2006 19:46 - 21 of 34

I find them annoying too, worst kind are the ones with it all hanging out on display, followed closely by drivers, if they squeeze their car into the space next to yours you can guareete to hit your car with their door getting out.

Dil - 13 Jan 2006 20:13 - 23 of 34
