In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 48.44 points at 16,359.20, while the Nikkei was recently trading at 17,259.90, up 97.35 points.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for delivery in May fell 31 cents to $68.31 a barrel from its close of $68.62 usd in New York overnight.
