Martini - 02 Apr 2004 23:04 - 5075 of 23498

I see the high rollers are whacking 100 EW bets around now. Ooo don't you just hate people with money to burn :)

Socrates - 03 Apr 2004 08:56 - 5076 of 23498

OK, now to start the day right it just has to be a full English breakfast with extra bacon. You know, that lovely grilled smoked back bacon just on the verge of crispy. I'll get the kettle on to make a start.

snoball - 03 Apr 2004 10:13 - 5077 of 23498

Morning.
Can anyone help me?
I can't find a facility to look for a company by name - I don't know the epic.
Most odd - i'm missing something obvious, obviously.

Socrates - 03 Apr 2004 10:34 - 5078 of 23498

Snoball
You're absolutely right, you are missing something obvious.

Go to Quotes, then there is a little box which you should ignore, then there is a button which says GO, then there is a line which says 'Find Company'.

Click on 'Find Company' and lo and behold it shall all be made clear unto you.

Fiddlesticks! Sorry Pooch, I couldn't access the outside world on my PDA yesterday, so missed the deadline, having just returned to the wired-up world.

snoball - 03 Apr 2004 16:53 - 5081 of 23498

Thanks Socs.
You were right. All was revealed.
I can only put it down to not having a proper breakfast.
That's my excuse anyway.

Golddog - 03 Apr 2004 17:21 - 5082 of 23498

The Racing Results...........

1st: 17 Amberleigh House (IRE) (16-1)
2nd: 27 Clan Royal (FR) (10-1 JF)
3rd: 33 Lord Atterbury (IRE) (40-1)
4th: 2 Monty's Pass (IRE) (20-1)

And that's why Hightone is our resident racing tipster! Well done mate with Amberleigh House! Also Littlewoman wins again with second place Clan Royal. Excellent.

Golddog - 03 Apr 2004 17:27 - 5083 of 23498

Hightone wins 2,450.00
Littlewoman wins 650.00

This does not include original bet which will be taken from winnings.

Golddog - 03 Apr 2004 17:28 - 5084 of 23498

Vasey, I dont think there was a horse called Fiddlesticks!
:-)

Golddog - 03 Apr 2004 17:32 - 5085 of 23498

Next week is the final Race for this session but the Gee Gee Game will return soon. Punters will have another 1000 starting pot and those that have played so far will have their current pot funds added to the 1000.

Martini - 03 Apr 2004 18:21 - 5086 of 23498

Well done Hightone and LW nice one - hope you had your own dosh on.
I yet again confirm why I keep away from betting on horses.

This_is_me - 03 Apr 2004 21:52 - 5087 of 23498

Deborah Hargreaves writes in FT today :

"The leading bookmakers are expecting about 20m bets on the National, generating turnover of some 200m - a third higher than last year. By lunchtime yesterday, Sportingbet - the world's largest online betting group - had sold three times more bets on the National than during the same period last year."

Looks good to me whatever the odds.

little woman - 04 Apr 2004 10:29 - 5088 of 23498

Well done HT - going to give me a run for my "on paper" money.

I'm afraid not Martini, I won't use real money on betting. I think thats why I prefer to invest rather than trade! I'm just having a lucky streak - long may it continue!

Socrates - 04 Apr 2004 10:44 - 5089 of 23498

I'll add my congrats to HT on a good choice.

Right folks, the menu has a special today after yesterdays performance and it may well turn out to be "race horse on a stick". My nag seemed to have got completely lost. I turned on the telly and found the race already at the tenth. My horse, nowhere to be seen, retired, fallen, ran the wrong way, gone by bus, gone on holiday who knows?

Never mind, it's only virtual money so I virtually don't mind. It would be nice to pick a winner though.

hightone - 04 Apr 2004 14:23 - 5090 of 23498
