Interesting little company. Did a series of asset swops to leave them with half of the 4th largest Nickel deposit in the world.
The deposit itself is in the Philippines has been known about for 30 years but due to low prices and lack of demand in the Far East it was never exploited. With the explosion in demand from India and China the nickel price has climbed from $2 to $6.50 but oddly enough is still considered low.
The final approval stage for exploitation is just about to be approved and extraction will begin. The company already has one contract with a Japanese smelter and is in discussions with smelters in a series of countries.
Nothing clever about the operation, as the ore is of sufficiently high grade, they dig it up and ship it out. Infrastrucure is already in place for operation.
TMC is currently priced at 18m, the initial Japanese contract is worth 4m and each additional contract will hopefully be at this level or greater.
Final approval turns the company into a producer and each additional contract simply increases their size.
The management is tight with cash and has some good quality mining skills onboard.
The Philippine government is fast tracking the final approval and the company says it expects it shortly.
One to hold for approval and through the series of RNS's as more contracts are won. Company should be worth 50m in 6 months and 100m in 12-18 months.
Buy it, ignore it, just pointing this one out.

OILY re your post 486 I totally agree Berong having obtained a full mining licence and hopefully producing a favourable JORC report shortly then TMC with a current market capitalisation of still only 150 million must be a sitting target for one of the big mining houses. Also interesting that TMC are converting their US$2.75 loan to Atlas into ordinary shares thus indirectly increasing their interest in Berong.
Even at 20 per share TMC would only be valued at 600 million.

Another 2 mpsa's due in 2 months. Once the market catches on to this, onwards and upwards we go!
Philippines' Berong nickel exports 350,000 metric tonnes year-to-date
06.07.07, 6:07 AM ET
MANILA (XFN-ASIA) - Berong Nickel Corp's exports of wet nickel laterite since the start of the year have reached 350,000 metric tonnes, a company executive said.
'We have made seven trial shipments averaging 50,000 metric tonnes since the start of the year,' Ramon Antonio Flores, resource development manager of Berong Nickel, told reporters. He did not disclose the total value of the shipments.
'By the end of the year, we expect to have shipped out a total of 1 mln tonnes,' he said.
Berong Nickel is the joint venture unit of Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corp (other-otc: ACMBB.PK - news - people ), London-based Toledo Mining Corp and Investika Ltd of Australia.
'There is a strong demand for nickel for stainless steel products, that's why we have increased our shipments, and we expect prices to hold up over the next couple of years,' Flores said.
He said Berong is currently being wooed by at least four different groups in China for the supply of nickel laterite. But he gave no further details.
He added meanwhile that two other affiliates of Berong Nickel -- Iplan Nickel Corp and Ulugan Nickel Corp -- are expecting to secure 25-year mining contracts from the government in the next two months covering sites in Palawan in the western Philippines.

End June next trading statement is due, probably another 3 shipments by then, could be half way to 1mtpa.
End July MPSA's for Ipilan and Ulugan due, hopefully if rumours about Ipilan are true, we may see an increase in acreage.
JORC report ready, just not released yet. Are they waiting to marry this news up with something else.
Also off thread but relevant to TMC. Billitung is due to be floated very soon after, during thrid quarter 2007. The relevance here to my mind is that it is owned by Investika and Toledo's management and they obviously would find it difficult to float another company at such a critical stage in finalising contracts for TMC. I believe that they know already that everything will be in place by the time they float Billitung, which by the way should be about 60p and is rumoured to be bigger than TMC.
Early August could be when the sh.t hits the fan literally, because my first grandchild is due then. Oh my god, and TMC should be on its way, big time.
Finally there is rumour of a 5 to 1 split, because of the difficulties in trading this stock.

The 5 to 1 split is when we near towards triple figures as investors would psychologically be to scared to buy a stock over 100 pounds.

18P SPREAD, MOST UNFAIR. I'D SAY THE MM'S ARE ABSOLUTELY ON A KNIFE EDGE TRYING TO BALANCE THEIR BOOKS AND THESE IDIOTS KEEP HELPING THEM OUT, BY SELLING.

Everyone has targets and then they sell, either at a profit or a loss, doesn't make them idiots. A few people are falling in love with this share.
Incidentally, I recall the plans for a SEO 1 party ;)

in the few days that i have been following this stock, the spread has often looked to be excessive, though it can often be bettered by dealing through the market rather than on-line ...... anyway, on another day of general blood-letting, a sharp reaction was almost inevitable after the recent stellar performance.
whether or not 10 let alone 20 is a genuinely realistic and attainable target in the immediate future, remains to be seen.

I have a reasonable holding in these and think the next 6 months will be an interesting time. After some recent disappointments I have high hopes on this one.
As for the 20, let's wait and see, but anything 25% + upwards of what I came in at will suit me fine [and I was nearly there yesterday] :-(..............

It is less than two years ago (4/7/2005) when TMC had a 50 to 1 share consolidation. Perhaps more likely short term that there may be a share isue to fund the processing plant mentioned in the recent application to extend Berong mining licence. Investika has already passed a board resolution to raise more capital which may relate to their share of financing the processing plant.

Well I am now looking forward to Monday with great interest. Today MPSA made official. Another 360,000 shares on large trades now in institution hands. And they have the temeritary to slash the price, therefore compounding the problem that faces them in balancing their books. I do not believe that the stocks sold today were readily availiable. The price of TMC, in my mind, should have risen considerably today, but was held back by mm's games.

Great word that, temeritary?
Agree totally with your comments, its not as if TMC have suddenly had bad news, in fact the news puts to bed everything the doubters were saying, "with no mpsa valuation is iffy" well now we have the valuation of TMC is ridiculous, so whats the excuse now, there wont be, just give it time!

A mate of mine reckons that they are trying to capture all the stop losses and scare out those buying on credit. He said that he wouldn't be surprised to see price down to 4 on Monday. It shouldn't take long as now they have to do something positive with the sp to reflect the added value. All things come to those that wait.

agree oily-market manipulation for them to make money at the expense of the small pi but this is spread betting for you it totally distorts the market and frightens out small holders as well. holding tight to mine as I buy and hold long term.
