Harlosh, I think (on CMC) that you are seeing dollar falling, pound rising.

Going "Long Cable" means buying a GBP/USD on CMC (I think) - I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong!

goforit - 09 Mar 2006 08:52 - 5116 of 11056

Has the paint dried yet?

hilary - 09 Mar 2006 08:54 - 5117 of 11056

Yen's very fruity this morning, goforit. EUR/JPY 2 easy moves for around 90 so far.

goforit - 09 Mar 2006 09:10 - 5118 of 11056

hils, Only trading of my laptop at the moment so struggle to watch more than one currency pair. I am learning so have stuck to cable sofar. I have recently moved out to spain, and will be getting a better computer setup in a couple of months when we've got a place sorted. Any advice/help always gratefully received.
See what you mean aboutEUR/JPY

hilary - 09 Mar 2006 09:46 - 5119 of 11056

goforit,

If you use FX Power Chart, you can watch multiple pairs/crosses at different time frames simultaneously in one large window on your laptop.

The data feed is from FXCM and therefore marries perfectly to FXCM quotes. If you use a different broker, then the price on the chart may well vary a little bit from your broker's own quote.

Edit: This is the link

goforit - 09 Mar 2006 10:12 - 5120 of 11056

hilary, thanx.

Harlosh - 09 Mar 2006 11:24 - 5121 of 11056

Lost my broadband connection last night and only just got back on-line. My Cable short and USD/JPY long not too healthy.

Harlosh - 09 Mar 2006 11:25 - 5122 of 11056

Sue42,

Thanks for that. My main confusion came from my Updata charts which appear to call pairs the wrong way round.

Harlosh - 09 Mar 2006 16:12 - 5123 of 11056

Nobody around today?

Still short Cable but looks as though that paint still isn't dry.

chocolat - 09 Mar 2006 16:29 - 5124 of 11056

Yep I'm around, H.
No time to post at the moment :S

rpaco - 09 Mar 2006 16:34 - 5125 of 11056

Harlosh
CapitalSpreads also call Cable and the Fiber the wrong way round. So you are not alone in your confusion.

Im not here really, just like to creep into a corner and bask in the greatness un-noticed.

Harlosh - 09 Mar 2006 16:37 - 5126 of 11056

Good to know I'm not alone :-))

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2006 08:09 - 5127 of 11056

Still short Cable this morning.

hilary - 10 Mar 2006 09:29 - 5128 of 11056

Story doing the rounds that Citigroup are about to launch a bid for Soc Gen. That rumour could well push fiber higher.

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2006 09:32 - 5129 of 11056

Suppose you have answered this many times Hilary but can you repeat for me what fiber is. Oh and err gopher?

hilary - 10 Mar 2006 09:36 - 5130 of 11056

Fiber = EUR/USD
Gopher = USD/JPY

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2006 09:37 - 5131 of 11056

Many thanks

rpaco - 10 Mar 2006 09:45 - 5132 of 11056

If the US non farm payroll and/or the unemployment rate is up (at 13:30 GMTwill that affect the cable and fiber much? I would assume thats bad do the dollar will fall and both fiber and cable rise?
Hope so, Im long on fiber atm.

Gausie - 10 Mar 2006 11:09 - 5133 of 11056

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2006 11:12 - 5134 of 11056
