Beware the spirit of the barrel!

little woman - 07 Apr 2004 15:41 - 5124 of 23498

Hello all

I need to put my feet up for a while, and drink something that'll warm me up! Coffee with a little contreau would be very welcome. Athough I got rid of my cold weeks ago, I seem to have a lingering cough that just doesn't want to shift.....

Anyone want to join me?

Any racing this weekend?

Socrates - 07 Apr 2004 17:11 - 5125 of 23498

I'll join you little woman, just tell me where you're coming apart and I'll do the glueing for you. Hot lemon & whisky is what you need, easy on the lemon and hot and heavy on the whisky.

jeffmack - 07 Apr 2004 17:34 - 5126 of 23498

Saturdays horse will be
2:10 Kempton (click here for runners)

Dont forget the message from our leader

Golddog - 03 Apr'04 - 17:32 - 5084 of 5125
Next week is the final Race for this session but the Gee Gee Game will return soon. Punters will have another 1000 starting pot and those that have played so far will have their current pot funds added to the 1000.

So if you want to catch lw you will need to work out how much to invest at what price. So I would need to invest my 500 on a 10/1 winner to catch lw.

little woman - 07 Apr 2004 19:02 - 5127 of 23498

Thanks socs!

little woman - 07 Apr 2004 19:03 - 5128 of 23498

stockbunny - 08 Apr 2004 09:50 - 5132 of 23498

Morning All!
Little Woman - know what you mean the aftermath of the current
batch of flu/cold bugs seems to go forever!! Lots of hot drinks
seems the only thing that appeases my throat & cough.

The bunny's purse is smarting due to lending number one son
the cash for his insurance on the brumm-brumm he found on the
weekend and is due to collect in a couple of days. Strange isn't
it that insurance for cars is one of the few where the cost/worth of the
insured item (Car) is LESS than TPTF insurance on it!!!!! Can you
imagine if houses worked the same, there'd be riots on the streets!!
I haven't seen the 'wheels' yet but do know it's 10 years old and red
and cost more than I'd pay for it.....Large brandy please, I think I'm
feeling my age as the phrase "When I was a girl...."is entering my head!!!

Jeffie-Mackie haven't you got this 'joy' to come with one of yours??

jeffmack - 08 Apr 2004 13:37 - 5133 of 23498

My oldest is 24, youngest 21, so I have been a no return money lender for some years.

snoball - 08 Apr 2004 14:11 - 5134 of 23498

My daughter, bless her, doesn't want a car. What luck.
Mind you she lives in Vancouver where you don't need one.
Even the beach is downtown!

stockbunny - 08 Apr 2004 14:13 - 5135 of 23498

Ah so you are well-versed in the practise then...But what can we
mere parents do? Not a lot of choice is there?? Its not a question
of minding playing at being Barclays, its the need for us to do so
due to the kids being ripped off that annoys me, but never mind.
Must have been someone else in here who's young 'en had
passed the theory test recently.
