THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Can I ask how he broke his leg and how bad the fracture was and what stage of rehabilitation is he at?

Also you say he is barely literate so a manuel job should be his first point of call job wise, not least to get him into the routine and structure which breads confidence and independence at the same time, Rather then computer knowledge (which will and should come later).

goldfinger - 27 Nov 2014 09:33 - 51429 of 81564

Stan on them courses they have to do computer courses so as to put a CV and covering letter together to find work.

They havent changed one bit from the 80/90s , just roll them out under a different name.

MaxK - 27 Nov 2014 09:39 - 51430 of 81564

Get Tristram Hunt to help him out, after all, he has a decent private educashun, so the job applicashun thingy shouldn't be a problem.

MaxK - 27 Nov 2014 09:43 - 51431 of 81564

c.

To be self employed on the minimum wage is a non starter, the running costs and paper demands alone will defeat him.

And that's if he can get 40 hours a week. Sounds doubtfull.

cynic - 27 Nov 2014 09:43 - 51432 of 81564

pretty much right sticky

fracture was appalling and arguably the guy should have been done for ABH
however, it was in sunday league football so independent witnesses and stuff that would stand up in court not available

========

max - it was a potential opening found for him by the job centre i think, or however these things work

What on earth was going on with George Osborne at PMQs? – Independent

He’s in charge of the nation’s finances and tasked with steering the UK economy clear of recession. So I think we’re all entitled to ask – what exactly was going on with George Osborne at Prime Minister’s Questions today? – according to The Independent.

Sat next to David Cameron with his hair, tie, collar and frankly face all slightly askew, the Chancellor’s appearance got people on Twitter more animated than anything that was actually said in an otherwise dire Commons exchange.
With the #CameronMustGo campaign still going strong after five days, the PM will no doubt be happy for anything to take the heat off.

The image at the top of this article shows the look Osborne was going for – decide for yourself quite what it all means.

Net migration to UK rises to 260,000 in year to JuneBreaking news
Net migration to the UK rose to 260,000 in the year to June - an increase of 78,000 on the previous year.

The figure is calculated by taking away the number of people leaving the country from the number coming in.

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised to get the figure below 100,000 before the election in 2015.

According to the figures, 583,000 people immigrated to the UK in the last year - an increase of 45,000 from the EU and 30,000 from outside.

BBC assistant political editor Norman Smith said the figures were "deeply deeply significant" and "deeply awkward for David Cameron".

no wonder the nhs is being killed immigration when do you say enough is enough
shall we allow the whole world to come
