How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

15:25 Strat - Valley Ride, Miles is the lead coming up to the line and heads to the paddock unseated rider. 42k turned over at 1.01 and 95-1 outsider comes in.
Was messing around in play and landed a bunch by getting matched at 95-1 a real fluke.

I don't know if you saw it but it was one of those once a year bizarre finishes to a race.
I see your cat would have been right to lay Arsenal again.
Premiership seems all but over now.

Southampton draw their eighth game in a row. A remarkable and near on impossible feat. I reckon that's around a 15,000-1 shot.

Suffered my first overall reversal on the horses today. Only betted on five faces, dutched the majority of one field, but as luck (poor trading?) would have it an outsider came romping in. Up overall on the day though, with a couple of wins on the footy and tennis.

Laid Middlesborough but wasn't quick enough to green up.
Had gone for a wander when Portsmouth scored

Backed the 'Boro from the start (doh!), but managed to trade out and eventually ended up green on the draw.

Well, just so no one can say I only post when I win. Had a real ' mare' (scuse the pun) on the nags today. Won on 14 out of 18 races, but the four losses far outweighed the wins in monetary terms. (Just to reinforce Fndy's point)
Engaged in a bit of successful arbitrage for the first time this evening on the snooker final. There was a book for the winner and also a different book for the match odds. Prior to Higins romping away with the match it was possible to make a few bob (literally!).

Interesting golf in the US tonight.
Purdy was as low as 1.16 before choking, then Furyk went to 1.01 (150K at 1.01/1.02) and it has now gone to a play off between Furyk and Short
Im happy as laid purdy (but at far bigger than 1.16 and only for small stakes) but was away from the screen as would have laid furyk at 1.01 if had seen it - Short had to birdie and Furyk miss from 7ft for a play off - never a 100-1 shot

Tomorrows another day with regard to the horses! hope the hit wasnt too bad. Have a quick recap on the races you lost - is there anything you can do differently to avoid or minimise them in future.
If its any help, i personally find the horses far harder at the weekend (i find that there is more volume and less volatility most of the time) and to a degree tend to stick to midweek on the horses

Nice one PTH
was planning on laying the Aussies in the cricket tonight with the hope that 1 or 2 of the ROW side would add 100 for the first wicket or two but on all accounts its cloudy and been raining and conditions will favour the bowlers - may stay up till Laras out depending on how the poker carries on :-)
