Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Fred1new - 22 Jan 2009 15:26 - 516 of 6906

G. Another intelligent remark. Does it represent your level thought.

I will await the change of American foreign policies by the New American administration.

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 15:29 - 517 of 6906

Gausie .... what else would you expect from a bald, old and bow-legged yid?

rawdm999 - 22 Jan 2009 15:29 - 518 of 6906

A change in American foreign policy is unlikely to make any difference to the situation, even if the new presidents middle name is hussain.

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 15:34 - 519 of 6906

the ex england cricket captain was also so named, and that too made no diff to the team's performance!

Ruth - 22 Jan 2009 15:34 - 520 of 6906

Cynic, of course i agree , most of us are only witnessing whats happening in gaza via the news,
its just that Fred has in the past ridiculed anyone who believed or made opinions based on what they read/saw.and now suddenly hes spouting it all off as being accurate/trustworthy now it suits his agenda

Hes usually of the opinion that innocent until proven guilty, its just his double standards and hypocrisy that im highlighting,

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 16:07 - 521 of 6906

would you then agree with my premise that, having read and seen what one can and made one's own evaluation, then that is the "truth" untill proved to the contrary?

Ruth - 22 Jan 2009 16:45 - 522 of 6906

Cynic, i dont think your understanding my argument,
Fred will jump on the back of anyone who forms their opinion based on news/media reports, but he then goes onto do the exact same when it suits his agenda, he cant have it both ways,

To answer your question though
yes i make my opinions based on what i read /see and the law of probability too,
but it only forms my opinion, its not truth and nothing but the truth is it?

But if someone attacked my home, or threatened any of my children, you can bet your last dollar i will do everything and anything in my power to overcome that threat,

So even though the medias perception/coverage is that gazza is being treated unfairly,im afraid i have different views /opinions based on law of probability/reality which over ride their bias/slant on the reporting, and first and foremost as mentioned above, protecting ones own has got to be priority,so even though in freds words "i wouldnt understand" i do fully understand my priorities if i was placed in the same position, and on that basis i think hamas are ultimately the more guilty party of the two sides,
hope this clarifies my position, i would rather there be no deaths, but you cant expect any nation to just sit back and not respond to attacks,

MightyMicro - 22 Jan 2009 16:46 - 523 of 6906

cynic: No you can't. The only safe path is to assume that you're being fed misrepresentations at best and falsehoods at worst. The degree of credibility you assign to a news source is matter for you, of course.

rawdm999 - 22 Jan 2009 16:50 - 524 of 6906

Completely agree with you MM.

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 17:06 - 525 of 6906

i don't care what Fred writes as i don't bother to read.

however, there are degrees of mis or disinformation, or to take it to a banal level ..... one often gets two totally honest but different reports from eyewitnesses to say a football match reported in two different local papers .... both reports are still the "truth".

depending on ones inclination, you may accept one or other report as being accurate, or for that matter, neither ..... unless an eyewitness whom you trust comes along and tells you something totally different, you will regard the opinion that you formed as being the "truth"

MM ..... i think we are actually in tune, as from what you write, you say you will filter and then form your own view as to what is the "truth" - until proven to the contrary

hilary - 22 Jan 2009 17:06 - 526 of 6906

Ruth,

I think that the media coverage of Gazza has been unfair since he ate all the pies.

:o)

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 17:08 - 527 of 6906

he needs the bottle of "sauce" to help wash down all the pies he has in that bag

Ruth - 22 Jan 2009 17:26 - 528 of 6906

Hils, ;-) you know my spelling is terrible,;-)its my keyboard , not me honest;-)
but he actually looks ok in that pic gazza ,
but ive seen him with my own eyes,
hes a fruit n nut case;-)

halifax - 22 Jan 2009 17:26 - 529 of 6906

cynic give it up, Gaza is yesterdays news rather like Northern Ireland became most ordinary people aren't interested in this squabble over a piece of real estate...... move on.

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 17:55 - 530 of 6906

who rattled your cage???? ..... many many (un)thinking people are more than interested in how this disaster in Gaza pans out ..... like it or not, the conflict over that "piece of real estate" has the potential of leading to a far wider conflagration than (totally unimportant) Ireland.

halifax - 22 Jan 2009 17:59 - 531 of 6906

cynic only if people like you continue to "pour fuel on the fire".

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 18:02 - 532 of 6906

try not to be such an arsehole, though i dare say you may find that difficult!
you talk such total and utter crap .... as if even Fred's rabid outpourings could have even an atom of effect on what goes on in the world

halifax - 22 Jan 2009 18:03 - 533 of 6906

cynic resorting to abuse does not strengthen your argument, please be a little more adult.

cynic - 22 Jan 2009 18:09 - 534 of 6906

i could have phrased it differently, but i deliberately chose not to and the sentiment would have been the same in any case

halifax - 22 Jan 2009 18:12 - 535 of 6906

cynic we are sorry we struck a nerve and hope you recover soon.
