slow moves (CMR)

hangon - 14 Mar 2007 16:53

I've been excited by this one, well at agm's - but noithing seems to prop up their own words. A 4% rise today is noise-level but welcome. What we need is so shiny metal, not pictures of rocks, or forests. This is meant to be a Gold co and all we hear is radio ga-ga.....................

canada1 - 22 Apr 2008 09:03 - 52 of 69

Cheers hangon, I have bort some, that's why it's dropped.

hangon - 25 Jun 2008 17:05 - 53 of 69

Sorry about that, CMR is down 12% today = 1.5---2p Trades=
No news, so it's just MM's covering their act.

canada1 - 30 Jun 2008 15:49 - 54 of 69

Not a good move by me then hangon !!!, shares suspended....doh!

hangon - 30 Jun 2008 17:02 - 55 of 69

I suppose we should have seen that coming, but then you'd expect these highly-paid execs to see it.
We know Politicialns appear to be feathering themselves and their nests - what to Prospectors do? Obviously the move to IFRS is beyond them.

This "probably" accounts for the recent falls . . . . just hope the Accounts are better than Market fears.....Oh deary.

hangon - 28 Jul 2008 22:49 - 56 of 69

Suspension lifted, and like an old motor, it slips off the b--- jack!

15% down, to 1.75p to buy - is this the bottom? . . . .was there ever a sensible reason for the Co. to allow itself to be suspended...or...was this deliberate to delay the accounts? ( and us, - being the real issue)....
...Oh deary.....

EDIT, 11 Aug08- All Sells today(AM) - w-w-what's up?
EDIT, 21 Aug08 - down yet more, 18%today - Sell=1p, Buy=1.25p...is this that bad? Latest News is somewhat lengthy ...did I miss some D e l a y ? (Note sp was requoted at 1.5p to Buy, but Next day(Friday) it slipped 10% to 1.25.....odd?)
Many miners are down, so I guess that the main reason...pity, eh?
EDIT 28Aug - up a tad, but I'm holding out until it reaches 1p - then only maybe.
+don't blame yourself - this is not a good story, I fear!

canada1 - 27 Aug 2008 16:14 - 57 of 69

Sorry about this hangon, my astute buying has flocked another company.

hangon - 03 Sep 2008 15:47 - 58 of 69

1/1.25 today as it drops another 10%

canada1 - it's not you! ( I bought a few more, today.)

canada1 - 04 Sep 2008 11:22 - 59 of 69

LOL, at last, I can blame you hangon. Statement looks good for today, I still think the shareprice is low compared to hmb with similar production figures.

driver - 04 Sep 2008 16:31 - 60 of 69

Bought in today looks like things are moving at last.

canada1 - 04 Sep 2008 19:08 - 62 of 69

Thanks driver, my wife reckons he should stop dyeing his hair, he's looking like Peter Cox from idd when they where 65p, not convinced.

Here are my notes from the AGM:

Quintana development is progressing adequately. Production is on schedule for Q4, possibly November. The accommodation blocks are finished. The concrete foundations for the mill are part done and should be complete in a few weeks. Most plant is already on-site. The two missing elements are the mobile crushing unit and Merrill Crowe circuit. The former is in Bogota and is waiting for the unsurfaced roads between Medellin and Remedios to dry out. The latter is still in Miami (US). Arrangements have been made locally to use toll plant if the Merrill Crowe kit doesn't arrive on time.

Underground development has been focussed on preparing mine stopes on the 1 and 2 levels. Approximately 2,500t of development ore is already stockpiled at surface. The decline has reached the 3 level and preparation is under way to commence strike drives shortly. Work is also under way to extend the drive north and south on 1 level. Progress to the north has been good, development is already over 20m beyond the old resource boundary. The vein remains strong and the current face assayed approx 2m@28g/t.

One interesting snippet of news has been the discovery of a new vein. This was found during mine development in the hanging wall of the main vein. It's too early to say whether this is just a minor splay or something bigger. Either way the exposed section shows a strongly mineralised vein with (unusually for Quintana) extensive visible free gold. Assays are still awaited, but they are expected to be spectacular. We're talking 100+g/t. Plans are afoot to expose the new vein along strike. Whether it proves significant or not remains to be seen, however it does demonstrate the potential for Quintana to occasionally produce bonanza grades.

Drilling is ongoing. Nothing has been sent for assay yet, but results are expected sometime in Q4. Visual inspection of the core confirms that the vein has been intercepted by drilling. In conjunction with results from the mine development mentioned above, the possibility of extending the resource remains very good.

Once drilling has been completed at Quintana, the rig will be moved to either La Rosaleda or Colina Negra. Which one is unclear. Surface exploration at both projects continues to make progress. Trenching at La Rosaleda has traced a vein at an artisanal mine over a couple of kilometres. To save money (around $180k) the company has decided not to build the 20km road to Colina Negra. They will ship in the rig via helicopter instead.

The company has just finished 5 weeks of prospecting at Three Hills. Rock samples show mineralisation indicative of a possible copper porphyry. Assays are to be undertaken shortly. A number of companies continue to show interest in the project. There were also vague hints that some of the other Colombian projects have attracted industry interest.

In Bulgaria, drilling has been completed at Chaira. Drill results will be published soon. A pre-feasibility study has been completed by CMR into underground mining at Tashlaka Hill. The ore would be toll treated by an existing plant 65km away. The results were encouraging and have been forwarded to JV partner (Electrum) for review. Whether anything ever comes of this remains to be seen.

They're still confident that Spain can be spun-off, but need to wait for better market conditions. I remain sceptical, but I said the same thing about the worthless sheep pasture in the Falklands and was proven wrong. And that brings me to RAB (who incidently were the ones left holding the baby at FGML - bad blood anyone?). They still hold CMR and are occasional sellers. The good news is that sooner or later they will be gone. I look forward to that day. This is one institution you don't want on your share register.

Finally, the mooted 400k placing is still in the pipeline and should be completed shortly. This will provide enough working capital to see the company through to year end, by which stage Quintana should be producing cashflow.

Thanks again driver, I'd better start averaging down..doh

CMR raises 350k at 1p - Grief, this is only small-change to most Boards - can't they raise this amount between them?
I'm really surprised any "Institutional" investor would be willing to buy such a small part of the company. . . . . . I suppose we should be grateful it's not at 0.5p - however, it gives me an uneasy feeling . . . . .yet again the Begging-Bowl.

Driver, are you still a believer?

EDIT 15Sept08 - Leman Bros Bank fails in US - looks like a big-'un has gone down and CMR sp (along with many others!), has dropped 20% on moderately strong selling. Is this Man Group trying to save their skin ( by taking cash), or is there another issue here.
I really don't see how the Execs couldn't raise 360k - what msg does than send?
Still, if the sp dips well below 1p . . . . . . . I might try again. This is a small punt for me, averaging about 3p
/
EDIT-2 (15Sept08,after hours) . . . . . seems a few more sales, even at these 0.008p levels ( just under 1p), with one late sell of 2m shares netting the investor 160k - so why would anyone create a loss when this Co. is about to mine for minerals.
Is this starting to explain why Directors won't find a measly 360k from their own funds? . . . . now, I'm getting nervous . . . . .

Ultimate Cynic - 19 Sep 2008 10:52 - 68 of 69

hangon
Sorry for the late reply I have had my head in the sand this week it helps you to sleep.

Yes, when they start production and the news starts to flow this could easy be a multi bagger.

"Cambridge Mineral Resources has continued to make progress in its strategy of advancing and adding value to its portfolio of mineral projects and becoming a producer of precious metals.
In particular, the drive towards precious metal production of 100,000 ozs gold per annum in South America has been advanced and we expect to commence production at our first gold mine in Colombia our Quintana project in Colombia later in 2008.....
