iTouch enters FTSE 100 Techmark and Small Cap Indices
iTouch is pleased to announce that it will officially enter the FTSE Techmark
100 Index and FTSE Small Cap Index Series on 22 December 2003.
This follows review meetings of the FTSE Independent Advisory Committee which
met in early December. The Committee's decision for entrance into both indices
was based on the company's market capitalisation and minimum liquidity criteria.
Ivan Fallon, Chairman of iTouch, commented: 'I am very pleased with the
admission of iTouch into the FTSE Techmark 100 and FTSE Small Cap indices,
which, together with the announcement in November of our first EBITDA positive
quarter and 4m fund raising yesterday, demonstrates the transformation of the
Group in 2003. This success has been driven by the commitment of all iTouch's
employees and I strongly believe that membership in both these indices will
enhance the company's profile in the London and international investment
communities whilst increasing the shareholder base and liquidity of the
company's ordinary shares.'

Yes, I'm pleased too - but only a little ! Lets see some big gains first before we raise the roof ! we have seen this before... creeps up in small stages...then goes back 4 or 5p in one go and it starts creeping up slowly again..I think it needs to break out of this trading range to where it should be.ie., = 40p + before we all feel in the mood to start cheering! Hopefully, we'll see some positive comments in Shares Mag & I.C and also maybe a positive trading statement and news of rolling into other countries very soon.

share price seems to have stalled in an otherwise rising market. the company website doesnt seem to have had anything fresh in the news section for quite a while.
I've taken the profit to use the money somewhere better. I may regret it but thats the way it goes
- all the best to you for the new year either way

Anyone know whats happening here? - price has been'eaten' away bit by bit over the last few days. I've had this with other shares - come out with a small profit but then watched the share price leap away! I'm hanging to the ones I've got as I expect all those phones sold over Christmas to make a difference sometime!

Very fustrating. However, this has been a regular pattern. The price jumps up 4-5p then slowly drifts back again. I'm hanging in there too..Once there is more news-flow (& it should be good news,)then we'll see a stronger, more sustainable share price. :)

Took this from adfn BB as some interest has been shown there in ITU shares over the last few days especially after the two large sells of 3m shares -
.....2x3m trade does not look great, and it ticked the the price down a tad, yet i would of thought it would go down more....this is very strange.....
my guess it must be a large fund company taking profits due to lack of news flow for some time since interims, and if ITU had secured a contract for 'american idol 3' ITU would of announced it by now. my guess is ITU have lost the contract with Freemantlemedia. which make me ask why? perhaps the profit margin was not that attractive for them anymore (falling dollar?), or maybe ITU have bigger fish to fry (with bigger profit margins in the EU/Asia?) and wish to concentrate resources elsewhere (Movilisto?).....
.... said a few days back, if it held above 28p this would be a strong strong buy signal. yet it has fallen a little. so i would 'hold' until after this weekend .... %r is looking oversold, MACD is still looks like it wants to turn upwards, and stochastic indicators are indecisive, yet if price holds it will be screaming buy on friday. there is an underlying updrend since august, and we are now on the limit of this trend (higher lows), something will have to give very soon....watch this space....
took this off the OST thread since VOD is a partner and ITU is a content provider I thought it more appropriate here.

I was hoping someone was going to say it was cross trade, but it did seem strange it didn't drop further.
Spot on with the end of your second paragraph. I'm sure they wouldn't mind picking up these contracts at the right price but the main area of growth is the direct channel and the new dimension Movilisto have brought into ITU. I think the second part of the 3rd quarter results says it all about the the Voice business.
Voice
The Voice business recorded revenues of 22.9m for the first nine months of 2003 (2002 : 16.6m). As reported in previous statements, iTouch has been utilising its technology for one high revenue and low margin contract, which finished in Q3 2003. As a result, Voice revenues fell to 6.2m in Q3 2003 from 9.0m in Q2. Operating losses were 0.6m for the nine month reporting period (2002 : 0.5m).
Other Data
The other Data business recorded revenues of 6.3m in the first nine months of 2003 (2002 : 3.7m). Business Mobility (our PDA applications offering) secured two significant UK contracts this period.
Other Profit and Loss Items
The Group gross profit was 18.0m for the first nine months of 2003 up 102% from the equivalent period in 2002. Gross profit percentage increased to 43% primarily as a result of the acquisition of Movilisto and the completion of the single high revenue and low margin voice contract.
Selling expenses in the first nine months of 2003 increased by 95% to 4.6m (2002 : 2.4m) as a result of the Movilisto acquisition and the launch of 8181 in the UK. General administration expenses, excluding Movilisto, decreased to 4.1m in Q3 2003 from 4.9m in Q2 2002 as we continue to control costs.
On 2 July 2003, iTouch sold its 50% stake in iTouch Israel to the other joint venture partner for a nominal sum. The disposal agreement includes a licensing arrangement that allows iTouch Israel to retain the use of the iTouch name and Group content in return for a revenue share. The disposal resulted in an exceptional gain of 0.1m and iTouchs share of the joint ventures profit in 2003 was 48,000 (2002 : loss of 228,000).
After net interest income of 0.4m (2002 : 0.9m), share incentive scheme changes of nil (2002 : 0.4m), depreciation of 1.5m (2002 : 1.2m) a charge for goodwill amortisation of 2.2m (2002 : 3.6m), the loss on ordinary activities before tax was 5.7m (2002 : 11.9m). Tax for the first nine months was 1.0m arising primarily from the profits of Movilisto.
The adjusted loss per share (as calculated in Note 2) was 0.5p (2002 : 2.3p). The Group had net cash of 11.3m at the end of the period.
Total headcount at 30 September 2003 was down to 325 (including Movilistos 41 staff) from 382 at 31 December 2002 and reflects our continuing review of the cost base and efforts to improve operational efficiency.
Outlook
The Group has now reached a sustainable EBITDA positive position and we expect to be close to EBITDA breakeven for the full year 2003. In light of the increased focus of the Group on the emerging mobile data market, the Board is undertaking a strategic review of existing operations which may lead to some impairment of goodwill but will position the Group for strong financial performance in 2004. The success of Movilisto in Spain and the launch of the 8181 channel in the UK give us confidence that we now have a platform and profitable business model which we can build on and scale into new territories.
