Been away from the screen.
I'm a very happy bunny and I'm staying long

Sue 42 - 14 Mar 2006 17:12 - 5216 of 11056

i'm long but from last week - typical.

chocolat - 17 Mar 2006 01:28 - 5217 of 11056

Well it's been a good run :o)
Hils'll probably shout at me again, but I reversed into a few cable shorts earlier this evening. I just don't think we'll get a lot closer to those January highs. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. If I'm rightish I'll try to get a chart up over the weekend.
Won't be around for any fireworks tomorrow ;)

hilary - 17 Mar 2006 08:35 - 5218 of 11056

I'm not going to shout at you, Choccy. As it happens, you might have called the top. Sterling has certainly turned down against the Yen overnight.

:o)

I'm loathe to short cable myself just yet though because, as I see it, it's still going up on the hourlies. It's above both of my ma's which are themselves still rising and is supported above a rising line passing through the lows since Monday. Until those ma's start to turn down and it breaks the rising support, I intend to stay long.

Bernanke is the one to watch

Forex - US dollar firmer in Sydney morning; Bernanke speech seen as key

And after that MPC minutes and the budget should be fun too.

chocolat - 20 Mar 2006 01:15 - 5221 of 11056

Well it's stick your neck out time :S
This afternoon's doodle:

if that's remotely right, then I'm sort of counting on this not holding

Still rather short from 50 and 40 points up (now 1.7544) - 2hrly MACDs looking like they're ready for a tumble.

hilary - 20 Mar 2006 09:28 - 5222 of 11056

Choccy,

I've got to say that I don't understand where those lines on your upper chart originate from.

I can see some resistance from a falling resistance line drawn through the highs since September which is currently around 100 pips or so higher up. Unfortunately I'm struggling a bit with getting my screens to work today so I can't paste it up here.

hilary - 20 Mar 2006 12:00 - 5223 of 11056

Looks to be rolling over now on those hourlies, Choccy.

chocolat - 20 Mar 2006 12:29 - 5224 of 11056

Surely does, Hils.
Sorry - was trying to load another chart so you can see how the lines look on the daily, but I can't get into my web thingie.

hilary - 20 Mar 2006 13:12 - 5225 of 11056

EUR/JPY dancing on support at 141.17. If she goes, the fall should be spectaculificent.

hilary - 20 Mar 2006 13:13 - 5226 of 11056

Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

:o)

chocolat - 20 Mar 2006 19:05 - 5227 of 11056

Sunbury - 21 Mar 2006 07:34 - 5232 of 11056

Does anyone trade sterling against the Australian dollar: the latter has fallen sharply against the pound - I would like to know why.
Thanks.

Harlosh - 21 Mar 2006 09:49 - 5233 of 11056

bosley,

I've been on a very steep learning curve over the last few weeks particulary with real time charts on forex. I must confess it has been a fairly costly exercise as I learn by my mistakes. I THINK I am getting there now but I wish you success. There are not many posters on here at the moment so help is thin on the ground but I wish you luck.

goforit - 21 Mar 2006 10:19 - 5234 of 11056

Sorry, am about, haven't been posting as I have some of my sisters outhere visiting. Did a couple of fx trades last week(not very clever), but have had a couple of good moves on the ukx(bringing memories of 6 years ago). Cable looks like its turning into a nice short as is EUR/USD.
Like your lines chocy, catch you later in the week
