Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?
If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?
Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?
What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Cynic, i dont think your understanding my argument,
Fred will jump on the back of anyone who forms their opinion based on news/media reports, but he then goes onto do the exact same when it suits his agenda, he cant have it both ways,
To answer your question though
yes i make my opinions based on what i read /see and the law of probability too,
but it only forms my opinion, its not truth and nothing but the truth is it?
But if someone attacked my home, or threatened any of my children, you can bet your last dollar i will do everything and anything in my power to overcome that threat,
So even though the medias perception/coverage is that gazza is being treated unfairly,im afraid i have different views /opinions based on law of probability/reality which over ride their bias/slant on the reporting, and first and foremost as mentioned above, protecting ones own has got to be priority,so even though in freds words "i wouldnt understand" i do fully understand my priorities if i was placed in the same position, and on that basis i think hamas are ultimately the more guilty party of the two sides,
hope this clarifies my position, i would rather there be no deaths, but you cant expect any nation to just sit back and not respond to attacks,

i don't care what Fred writes as i don't bother to read.
however, there are degrees of mis or disinformation, or to take it to a banal level ..... one often gets two totally honest but different reports from eyewitnesses to say a football match reported in two different local papers .... both reports are still the "truth".
depending on ones inclination, you may accept one or other report as being accurate, or for that matter, neither ..... unless an eyewitness whom you trust comes along and tells you something totally different, you will regard the opinion that you formed as being the "truth"
MM ..... i think we are actually in tune, as from what you write, you say you will filter and then form your own view as to what is the "truth" - until proven to the contrary

Ruth,
I think that the media coverage of Gazza has been unfair since he ate all the pies.

cynic give it up, Gaza is yesterdays news rather like Northern Ireland became most ordinary people aren't interested in this squabble over a piece of real estate...... move on.

who rattled your cage???? ..... many many (un)thinking people are more than interested in how this disaster in Gaza pans out ..... like it or not, the conflict over that "piece of real estate" has the potential of leading to a far wider conflagration than (totally unimportant) Ireland.

try not to be such an arsehole, though i dare say you may find that difficult!
you talk such total and utter crap .... as if even Fred's rabid outpourings could have even an atom of effect on what goes on in the world

I personally don't think Gaza is yesterdays news. I think this 'war' will be raging long after i'm pushing up daisies and i'm not that old!
Considering it will be affecting me for the rest of my life, I remain interested in it.
Carry on cynic but if the truth be told then truth is generally a proven fact. I understand your version of truth but I don't consider myself knowing anwhere near the truth. Think that makes sense, Struth time for a drink.

along those lines, but nuff said - lol! ..... i started trying to point out merely that truth is often or even usually as perceived, which is ceratinly not the same as actuality - whatever that may be
by the way, i initially thought halifax was prattling about Gazza and not Gaza!

One thing that stands out from your latest link, Fred, is the, noticeably lacking credentials of any of those who are claiming fact Ging, HRW etc. The medical staff on the other hand only consider what they see to be one option of many.
cynic, I feel such a fool, theres me waffling about gaza when the real story is gazza. :)

cynic trying to point out the stupidity of helping to perpetuate this pointless conflict is not "prattling", eventually common sense will prevail and the israelis and palestinians will be obliged to settle. Keep taking the tablets!
