Hello!

Spaceman - 08 Feb 2005 18:42 - 527 of 24230

Evening all,
Am I too late for pancakes?? they sound yummy.

Just got home from my first days work since June 2003, I dont think I like it? people kept asking me to do things thats they seemed to think I knew how to do, i didnt have the heart to tell them I have forgotten. Wonder how long I will be able to get away with it?

I noticed the picture of Keira earlier in this thread, that made me feel better, I might have to put it in the header, but i guess the women members will want something to balance her out a bit, if you see what I mean.

jj50 - 08 Feb 2005 19:03 - 528 of 24230

Well done Spacey. The thing I remember about work is that the first
week is always the worst - by the end of next week it will all be familiar.

I'll heat up some of those pancakes for you and you pour yourself a drink:-)
There should have been a celebration last night anyway for the victory over
the mouse population. There is still one out there thumbing a lift back
to Sevenoaks from Hastings!!

Because you are the boss, I think I can risk speaking on behalf of the girls and allow you Keira in the heading - for the time being anyway!!

Have a good evening...

Spaceman : Work ??
These are taken from MY personal annual appraisements over my years as a BT manager. I don't think they liked me! :
I particularily think 10 is brilliant)

(1) "Since my last report, this manager has reached rock bottom.....and has started to dig."
(2) "His men would follow him anywhere, ....... but only out of morbid curiosity.'
(3) "I would not allow this manager to breed."
(4) "This manager is really not so much of a 'has-been', but more of a definite 'won't be'."
(5) "Works well when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a trap."
(6) "When he opens his mouth, it seems that it is only to change feet."
(7) "He would be out of his depth in a parking lot puddle."
(8) "This young man has delusions of adequacy."
(9) "He sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them."
(10) "This employee is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot."
(11) "This employee should go far, ..... and the sooner he starts, the better."
(12) "Got a full 6-pack, but lacks the plastic thing to hold it all together."
(13) "A gross ignoramus144 times worse than an ordinary ignoramus."
(14) "He certainly takes a long time to make his pointless."
(15) "He doesn't have ulcers, but he's a carrier."
(16) "I would like to go hunting with him sometime."
(17) "He's been working with glue too much."
(18) "He would argue with a signpost."
(19) "He has a knack for making strangers immediately detest him."
(20) "He brings a lot of joy whenever he leaves the room."
(21) "When his IQ reaches 50, he should sell."
(22) "If you see two people talking and one looks bored, ..... he's the other one."
(23) "A photographic memory but with the lens cover glued on."
(24) "A prime candidate for natural deselection."
(25) "Donated his brain to science before he was done using it."
(26) "Gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming."
(27) "Has two brains: one is lost and the other is out looking for it."
(28) "If he were any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week."
(29) "If you give him a penny for his thoughts, you'd get change."
(30) "If you stand close enough to him, you can hear the oceans."
(31) "It's hard to believe that he beat 1,000,000 other sperm to the egg."
(32) "One neuron short of a synapse."
(33) "Some drink from the fountain of knowledge;..... he only gargled."
(34) "Takes him 2 hours to watch 60 minutes."
(35) "The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead."

Giz a job yooth!

Spaceman - 08 Feb 2005 19:19 - 530 of 24230

jj50, trouble is I am taking next week off, that didnt go down to well when I arrived this morning, I told them in advance but they seem to have forgotten ! Its one of the problems with contract work, they think I will work just as long as they want because they assume that all contractors are greedy and just want the money. In my case they are partly right I am happy with the money but I have no intention of doing loads of extra hours ....

You might have sorted out why I cant catch the Hasting mouse, maybe it keeps travelling between the two places!

7thFloor, mine were never that good ;-)

Fundamentalist - 08 Feb 2005 19:25 - 531 of 24230

Evening all

Good to see some pancakes left - been to two different sainsburys and they havent got any. In the last one the guy working the bakery explained that they had high demand for them today - i asked him why he was surprised and got a blank expression - and people wonder why sainsburys are struggling - on shrove tuesday the local branch had sold out of; ready made pancakes, lemons, lemon juice and golden syrup - amazingly they still had some eggs and flour lol

Anyhow, a couple in here with golden syrup has done the trick, think ill wash them down with a pint of guinness

Socrates - 08 Feb 2005 19:38 - 532 of 24230
