Good morning I see I'm the first to surface in here today.
All you lucky people off to Spain - hope the weather improves for
JeffMack and Poochy dearest you definitely need a holiday my friend!

Opto - I think you are right, there can't be anything else to come
out that's negative from Shell surely (I don't think so anyway) so
it must come good for you and hopefully soon....Mind you my thoughts may
not be worth having as one of my 'recovery' stocks is busy shooting itself
in the foot these days (MKS) and it looks unlikely I will be able to get
my money out at a profit for a long, long time!!! (giggle, all good fun!)

So how's everyone doing today?
How's Vasey? I don't seem to bump into her much these days.
Right...danish and orange juice please!

vasey - 15 Apr 2004 11:42 - 5250 of 23498

Vasey's fine, thanks Bunny. Just not up to anything exciting enough to report to the Cafettes!

stockbunny - 15 Apr 2004 13:22 - 5251 of 23498

Good to know you're fine Vasey! Understand what you mean, most
of my time is spent in non-exciting trivia (lol) but that appears
to be what makes the world go round most of the time.

There was this ventriloquist guy out walking in the country when he comes across a small village. He wanders over to the pub for a drink and sees an old man sitting outside having a pint with his dog at his feet. Being able to throw his voice he decides to have some fun with the old man.

"Hello, lovely day" he says
"I like your dog do you mind if I have a chat with him?"

The old guy looks at him as if he was a nutter and grunts before going back to his pint.

"Hello boy, how are you" he says patting the dog.

He throws his voice and the dog replies "Just fine, I love sitting out here while he has a pint. The weathers been great and he lets me go into his field over there and chase rabbits all day and then he gets me a big bowl of water to drink. He is a brilliant owner."

"Thats great" says the guy "Does he own the horse in the field as well?"

"Yes" replies the dog. By this point the old guy is totally gobsmacked.

"Can I have a chat to your horse?"

"You speak to horses as well?" enquires the old man.

"yeah sure, any type of animal, no problem" says the guy.

They wander over to the field gate and the horse comes over.

"Hello boy, how are you" he says patting the horses nose.

"Fantastic" says the horse "I love it here. I have such a considerate owner, he puts me in this grassy field in the summer and in the winter I go into a lovely warm barn with plenty of hay. He also gives me a blanket to keep me warm. I couldnt ask for more."

The old guy is totally stunned by this point and is totally taken in.

At this point the guy notices some sheep standing nearby in the field.

"Do you mind if I chat to the sheep?" He asks.

"Oh err err you dont want to talk to them" the old guy says suddenly flustered "anything they tell you will be lies!"

Good evening all. Great to be back in the Bistro again. Time to have a bucket of sherry trifle and work out why my portfolio is red, nasty colour.

This_is_me
I don't get that joke, you'll have to explain it for me.

stockbunny - 15 Apr 2004 17:38 - 5254 of 23498

I am really tempted to play all 'girlie' here and say
"I don't understand the joke....."
But I wont! Cos I do! (I think)
Good one T-I-M!!!

stockbunny - 15 Apr 2004 17:40 - 5255 of 23498

little willie - 16 Apr 2004 09:42 - 5258 of 23498

Morning all from a VERY VERY wet and windy Winelands.
We've had thunder and lightning [not you Forky] for the past 12 hours and rain like you've never seen but everyones happy.
Lightening up a little now, due to play golf later but more wet stuff is forecast....

Hope you've all got a lovely day in the UK....

optomistic - 16 Apr 2004 10:27 - 5259 of 23498

Morning LW I hope it comforts you to know that here in Yorkshire UK it is very wet. I have a golf course close by and there will definately be no play today.

snoball - 16 Apr 2004 12:01 - 5260 of 23498

'mornin', 'tis a very nice day down here. Has been for several days.

Golddog - 16 Apr 2004 13:08 - 5261 of 23498

Bit of wet here in the midlands but very warm indeedy.

I shall get the kettle on for lunch.

Today's special is Roast crab.

jj50 - 16 Apr 2004 13:26 - 5262 of 23498

Can anyone join in here?! Sunny and warm near Edinburgh and has been for days! Daughter at Uni near Granada in Spain and they are floating away with rain, so I think Scotland wins!!!!!!!! Twenty odd golf courses within eight miles of my house and plenty of play today!

vasey - 16 Apr 2004 13:26 - 5263 of 23498

London is warm and sunny...but, lo! I spy a cloud.....not a very big one yet, but....

Roast lobster, green salad and a glass of white burgundy, please, Mr Woofer..

little willie - 16 Apr 2004 16:32 - 5264 of 23498

I think Bonny Scotland gets it over 'The Smoke' altho Vasey, Lobster and vino is a hell of a 'tempter'.
Also of course, at the moment Scotland is 'midge free', I believe they arrive on or about 25th July each year; after that, Golf...forget it!

We didn't play, instead we made our donation to the 'good cause' then buggered orf and went and introduced a couple of our friends to Sweet Revenge and gave her some carrotts for which she was most grateful.
I always say, you can't beat a nice nuzzle from a filly, they have such soft mouths.

Socrates - 16 Apr 2004 16:54 - 5265 of 23498

Yee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, the weekend is upon us. Anyone going to the antiques fair at the NEC?

snoball - 16 Apr 2004 17:46 - 5266 of 23498

No, Socs. I'm off to some TA/shares seminar in Islington tomorrow. Not so sure that was a good idea. Too late, its booked now.
On Sunday it's back to removing varnish etc from floor. Booooooring!

Socrates - 16 Apr 2004 18:53 - 5267 of 23498

snoball
Floors you can sand anytime, the fair ends on Sunday. I could even give you a free ticket for two.

snoball - 16 Apr 2004 20:21 - 5268 of 23498

Thanks for the generous offer Socs but it's a bit far and not enough notice.
I know nothing about antiques so it would probably all be lost on me.
