Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Well Done Fred and Hay for saying what most in Mainstream, fail to understand, that the state of Israel was created by forcing the indigenous population, i.e. the Palestinians from their home with brute force, and getting their Jewish friends in the west to recognise them as having a Jewish state, what followed for the next 50 years or so is the struggle of the Palestinian people against the oppression and occupation of land, that the Jews believed was their 'Promised Land'.

I always thought the Jewish scriptures talked about tolerance, but there has been none of that over the last 50 years.

Also one 'mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter', Im sure some of you out there have heard that expression.

All in all the Zionist regime, through their brain washing of the mainstream populations of the west, through their control of the media, have been able to trick people in to thinking that the Israelis are the oppressed and they are protecting themselves. But what are the protecting themselves from, the occasional rocket that drops in Israeli cities, which I don't condone, but can understand.

This is all about your ideology and perception of what is right and wrong. Those of us who have independent thought and are able to disseminate information that is fed to us from various media streams and also look at history and the stories of individuals are able to see, clear as day, that the Zionist state is the oppressor, the occupier and the transgressor of a multitude of crimes against a population that has been starved from any kind of economic and social development through the acts of state terrorism perpetrated by Israel and its allies

parrot - as I've said before, one can't debate with you as you are like Goebbels churning out his propaganda.
You cannot "discuss" an agenda based on premises of extreme prejudice and hatred as is your agenda.
The following brief comment is for the sensible non anti-semites who form the vast majority, that is NOT freddie, parrot or fahel.
With rational objective people it's different, I can and do discuss the rights and wrongs of Israeli government actions, for example I feel strongly that no more settlements should be built and those who support the actions of further settlement expansion are utterly and completely wrong.
Of course a lot of what the UK and the US do in other people's lands I also disagree with strongly, e.g. invading and bombing Muslim countries. Nothing is completely black and white, of course, for example, taking out Bin Laden on Pakistani land was absolutely correct.
I'm happy to discuss rationally with people with whom I disagree about many things, including Israel and the Palestinian state, (which I fully support the creation of), but with the likes of freddie parrot and fahel and one or two thers who have briefly appeared on this thread, there can be no "debate" because you are so completely one sided and consumed not with reconciliation and peace, but with your own extremist hatreds.

Once again all you can say is anti-semitism. There is no evidence that this is the case. It is the pathetic response where there is no real defence of Israel. It is not a question of no more settlements. It should be removing existing settlements and allowing the return of Palestinian refugees many of whom still live in squalor in camps in Lebanon. there is no basis of reconciliation while Israeli politics is dominated by the extreme right wing.

The IAEA is reporting Syria to the UN security council for having a covert programme of nuclear development. The hypocrasy is amazing. Israel has had nuclear weapons since at least 1967. Where is the condemnation of of that covert development.

'Iran to convene nuclear conference targeting Israel'

Iranian official says conference will focus on "Israel's policy of nuclear ambiguity," stresses that US and its allies continue to "ignore Tel Aviv's looming nuclear threats to the Middle East," DPA reports.

Iran will convene a nuclear disarmament conference that will focus on the international community's "policy of overlooking Israel's nuclear programs," DPA reported on Saturday quoting Iranian official media.

According to the report, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Akhoundzadeh, who will lead the conference, said the conference will target "Israel's policy of nuclear ambiguity" and what he said was Israel's refusal to neither confirm or deny that it allegedly possesses nuclear weapons.

Iran will host a conference on nuclear disarmament that will target the international community's policy of overlooking Israel's nuclear programs, official media reported Saturday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Akhoundzadeh, who will chair the conference, said the focus would be on Israel's policy of nuclear ambiguity and its refusal to neither confirm nor deny its alleged possession of nuclear weapons.

"The United States and its allies continue to put pressure on countries like Iran that have no nuclear weapons, while ignoring Tel Aviv's looming nuclear threats to the Middle East," Akhoundzadeh told news network Press TV.

Real peace only possible 'if Hamas on board'

A lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians is only possible if Hamas is involved, a group of former top statesmen and diplomats said in a letter made public on Friday.

In the letter, which is addressed to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, 24 former international figures warned against the dangers of rejecting a recent Palestinian unity deal aimed at ending years of bad blood between the secular Fatah faction and Gaza's Hamas rulers.

Among the signatories are four former EU prime ministers, including Italy's Massimo D'Alema and Denmark's Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, and 11 ex-foreign ministers, including Hubert Vedrine of France and Gareth Evans of Australia.

Former Israeli foreign minister Shlomo Ben-Ami and veteran Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi also signed the letter.

Iran urges world community to pressure Israel into joining Non-Proliferation Treaty

Tehran says Israel should subject its nuclear programs to international oversight and that the U.S. as Israel's main sponsor has the responsibility to halt its nuclear threat to the region.

Iran called on the world community Sunday to pressure Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and subject its nuclear programs to international oversight.

"The world community should put pressure on the Zionist regime (Israel) to join the NPT and allow inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said.

Speaking at a conference on nuclear disarmament in Tehran, Salehi called the Israeli nuclear bomb arsenal as the main threat to the Middle East.

Salehi also said the United States as Israel's main sponsor has the responsibility to halt its nuclear threat to the region.

The two-day Tehran conference was mainly focused on Israel's policy of nuclear ambiguity and its refusal to neither confirm nor deny the possession of nuclear weapons.

Iran argues that instead of depriving Iran from civil nuclear use, the world powers should focus their attention on Israel, which it says operates in secret.

An international report published on Sunday monitored a noticeable escalation in Israeli targeting of Palestinian children over a period of two months.

UNICEF said in its report that the Israeli occupation forces killed ten Palestinian children including a girl while 117 were wounded including 4 girls in March and April of 2011.

It pointed out that the figures reflected acute rise compared to the months of January and February 2011 when 3 children were killed and 64 were injured.

The report said that six children were killed in Gaza Strip including three who were killed in the buffer zone.

It said that 44% of the casualties occurred in occupied Jerusalem with 88% of those in Silwan and 12% in Sheikh Jarrah.

UNICEF called for separate investigation of each civilian casualty especially children and to bring to account all those involved in committing illegitimate acts.

True. It is similar to Syria, Libya, Saudi, Bahrain and Yemen in this regard. It is not the people that are the problem, but the governments of Iran, Syria, Bahrain, Yemen and Israel.

I am quite happy with the first two. I think Vietnam was a big mistake though.

I've just returned from my local health club, where the new Restaurant Manager is of genetic Asian extraction. I didn't ask him, but I presume his family originates from Pakistan or Bangladesh.

I berated him about the cleanliness of the Menu cards and tables. Both are actually 'wipe-downable' but aren't getting such treatment. The dining tables were fairly sticky from food and drink spillages and so were the cards. (I'm sure you know what mean? The waitress typically clears away but doesn't wipe the table!!! The Menus just go on to get dirtier and dirtier and dirtier still).

This doesn't mean that I'm a rascist and anti-Asian.

Neither does it mean that we should be anti-Jewish just because some Rabbi rapes a little girl.

I agree. There are people who abuse children from all religions and races.
