Hilary

Have just picked up your comment on the Australian dollar - thanks.

hilary - 27 Mar 2006 09:35 - 5266 of 11056

Note the calendar is showing GMT. And don't forget that US daylight saving time doesn't start till next weekend.

MightyMicro - 27 Mar 2006 10:57 - 5267 of 11056

Morning, Hil, sorry, FX Fairy a bit jet-lagged.

hilary - 27 Mar 2006 11:06 - 5268 of 11056

You simply can't get the staff nowadays, MM.

:o)

Divetime - 27 Mar 2006 14:07 - 5269 of 11056

Its a very slow day today

Harlosh - 27 Mar 2006 15:28 - 5270 of 11056

US rate decision tomorrow?

hilary - 27 Mar 2006 15:45 - 5271 of 11056

Indeed, Harlosh. A .25% rise is already in the price, imo, but the market is looking for future clues from Bernanke. It's the wording of the accompanying statement which will be of greater interest.

Harlosh - 27 Mar 2006 16:00 - 5272 of 11056

Thanks Hilary. Do they all tend to hold their breath, including non US crosses or is it a purely US thing?

Harlosh - 27 Mar 2006 16:36 - 5273 of 11056

Well I'm long USD/CHF but I may have been a little premature. :-)

hilary - 28 Mar 2006 09:28 - 5274 of 11056

Harlosh,

It's probably fair to say that no two months are the same regarding how the market will treat news.

Harlosh - 28 Mar 2006 09:33 - 5275 of 11056

Thanks again Hilary.

I'm a little wary of trading anything today in the light of tonights decision.

hilary - 28 Mar 2006 14:30 - 5276 of 11056

I wouldn't stop trading it just because of a few dozy Yanks, Harlosh.

bosley - 28 Mar 2006 19:35 - 5277 of 11056

chocolat - 28 Mar 2006 22:07 - 5283 of 11056

I am indeedy Cloudbase - reversed at 1pm (I know this cos the news pips went as the platform froze again and I had to use the phone) and totally spammed up since 1.7533.

By the way - I keep thinking it's just me not handling the flash thingie on Fins - if anyone else is using them and having problems with the new platform, you can click on the help thingie and the old java platform is still there. I do like simple, me :)

goforit - 28 Mar 2006 22:22 - 5284 of 11056
