THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Haze,

The mantra you spout must have been sent out by party central office.

Miliband was talking sense and respecting the economic problems of the majority than attempting to line the pockets of the greedy few and leading to greater disparity than at present.

Like Cameron and Osborne's policies you belong back in the 1930s.

You and your ideology will be rejected in May.

I hope the backlash to the present period of misrule will be proportionate.

Hays we had 13 years of sheer bliss under the last labour government. Never had it so good.

What went wrong when the Tories came to power just under 5 years ago??????

Haystack - 11 Dec 2014 11:44 - 52731 of 81564

The press were unconvinced by his speech. You could tell by their questions.

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 11:45 - 52732 of 81564

Fred said....."Hays.... Like Cameron and Osborne's policies you belong back in the 1930s."............ends jeez Fred that would make him about 6 year old, mind I bet he spoke more sense then than he does now LOL LOL LOL LOL.

Exec
I didn't think the couple were necessarily guilty, but felt they should return to the US to answer the charges. It looks like they conned everyone including all their supporters here in the UK.

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 11:46 - 52734 of 81564

hays stop talking tosh. Watch Labour gain a 5% lead in this weekends polls.

Hays do you want a gentlemans bet say a tenner.????

Haystack - 11 Dec 2014 11:49 - 52735 of 81564

The public won't even understand his speech. That's really his trouble. He thinks an attempted intellectual argument will sway the public.

Ed Miliband unveils Labour pledges on deficit and NHS

Leader pledges that if party wins election it will cut deficit every year while securing the future of the health service

Patrick Wintour, political editor

The Guardian, Thursday 11 December 2014 11.34 GMT

Ed Miliband has unveiled the first of Labour’s five election pledges, promising to cut the deficit every year and secure the future of the NHS.

The full pledge reads: “We will build a strong economic foundation and balance the books. We will cut the deficit every year while securing the future of the NHS. And none of our manifesto commitments will require additional borrowing.”

In a speech on Thursday, the Labour leader sought to capture the middle ground on the deficit, saying he would not follow the Conservatives’ plan for cutting total public spending to 35% of GDP. Instead, he promised to reduce spending in most departments year-on-year until the current deficit was eliminated.

He said Labour was engaged in a fight for the soul of Britain, and asserted that Tory fiscal plans would result in the disintegration of public services.

England cricket team trying to snatch another defeat from the jaws of victory!

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 12:04 - 52738 of 81564

"He thinks an attempted intellectual argument will sway the public".

Hays hays yes your right again, thats 2 times in two day well done.

That must be a record for you.

cynic - 11 Dec 2014 12:04 - 52739 of 81564

DB - nah; england now home and hosed .... root just whacked a 6

Shortie - 11 Dec 2014 12:05 - 52740 of 81564

What ever happens in the polls Labour won't win the next GE all the time Milly is leader... The man can't even convince his own face he's telling the truth so its a no brainer that the general public don't trust him either.

Haystack - 11 Dec 2014 12:07 - 52741 of 81564

Labour are behind on the economy by 3 to 1. Miliband's speech won't have changed that.

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 12:14 - 52742 of 81564

Shortie labour will be in power with the SDP who lets face it ARE labour but all in name , in fact they are more left wing than labour.

That will suit me after this lot under Camoron.

Now dont get me wrong Shortie I have voted twice for the Tories in the past BUT this present lot!!!!!!!!!! I ask you. NO CHANCE.

I bet if Davies was leader of the Tories they would have a 5 point lead at least. (and different front bench) not posh boys.

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 12:15 - 52743 of 81564

Hays do you really think the average sweaty builder and white van man gives a toss or even knows that fact. Stop talking silly.

Haystack - 11 Dec 2014 12:19 - 52744 of 81564

The average sweaty builder thinks Milibland is a geek and an idiot.

doodlebug4 - 11 Dec 2014 12:31 - 52745 of 81564

Shortie, post 52743 - absolutely right. Miliband doesn't look comfortable in his own skin. Labour's Chris Leslie couldn't answer any questions posed by Andrew Neill on the Daily Politics show today.

doodlebug4 - 11 Dec 2014 12:33 - 52746 of 81564

The average sweaty builder would probably make a better leader of the Labour party than the present incumbent.

goldfinger - 11 Dec 2014 12:33 - 52747 of 81564

GOD as just spoken on Twitter........

Our economic plan: Sensible reductions in spending, not the Tory slash and burn of public services.
