How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Liverpool

Bit of a mixed bag liverpool team though lacking in goals up front - could struggle in a low scoring affair depending on how fit Gerrard is

Also generous of them to only play 10 men (kewell just doesnt count im afraid)

Harlosh - 25 Oct 2005 20:20 - 5277 of 10502

Small lay on Liverpool at 2.02.

Can anyone see this ending 1-1 after 90 mins? tempted to lay the draw as both sides are playing as though extra time is the last thing they want (understandably especially in liverpools case)

Fundamentalist - 25 Oct 2005 21:12 - 5287 of 10502

damn - didnt get filled :-(

Scripophilist - 25 Oct 2005 21:22 - 5288 of 10502

Only a year since that Burnley defeat isn't it. Liverpool just don't seem to cut it domestically any longer.

Harlosh - 25 Oct 2005 21:37 - 5289 of 10502

Had another stab at laying Liverpool after they scored their first goal so a nice evening for me.

Scrip, exactly why I laid them.

Scripophilist - 25 Oct 2005 21:38 - 5290 of 10502

I have to admit I am surprised that anybody would back them.

Fundamentalist - 25 Oct 2005 21:39 - 5291 of 10502

Gerrard must be ecstatic he signed that new contract in the summer lol!!!

Big Fan of Ian Dowie - honest as the day is long - good luck to him

I see Arsenal have abandoned the clever penalities tonight.

I haven't laughed so much in years when I saw that over the weekend, great entertainiment.

Fundamentalist - 25 Oct 2005 21:57 - 5293 of 10502

Hi Steve,

Just came back yesterday and will give this game a miss as at work at mo.

Didn't really miss too much apart from the hilarious slapstick antics of Henry/Pires. Not seen any pictures of it yet but I'm sure I'll catch it over the next week.
