Could it be a camera problem?

Cant be a camera problem, as all I am doing is trying to open the Olympus Master, and look at photos at the moment, but when I come to transfer images it wont work either.

ron. Have you tried another download program? I've got an Olympus and I can use Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition (Freebie) if I want sometimes.

On XP you don't need download programs. It is just anothert file system.

Thanks for all the help so far, but I am off on holiday thursday morning, so will try out the Adobe freebie when I get back, hopefully with loads of pictures.

Have a look at the motherboard manual that came with your PC. It should show what combinations are possible. It may even show you how to remove and refit the new chip board. There are usually clips at either end to be released. There may be a manual on the internet. What sort of PC/motherboard is it?

How much memory have you got at present?

It's a Philips Freeline and I've 1.00 gb.

Go to http://www.crucial.com they have a system scanner which will check your system and recomend an upgrade.

However, if you already have 1GB of RAM why do you think you need more? Whilst many modern systems can use more memory than this, you still need some memory hungry apps to take advantage of it.

A friend of mine has 2GB.

I find if I have to many windows open the PC occasionly slows down.

I also find if I have to many windows open I get cold around this time of year.

Fair enough, but before you spend money on new RAM, keep an eye on your Task Manager to check exactly how much RAM you're using. I find that Internet explorer amongst others gradually increases its memory usage during the day which slows my system down even with 300MB free RAM.

Optimist. That's a good site! I wish I'd have seen that before ordering from Santa this year. I'll wait for New Year and do an upgrade myself.
It recommends me to put a 1024Mb alongside my 2 x 250's.
86 for the chip doesn't seem too bad.

Have just downloaded IE7, but it appears that I cant put anything into Favouriteswithout giving Google my e-mail address, which I do not intend to do. Have I understood this correctly?

My son got a Line 6 Reff Tracker Guitar Port for Christmas. I installed the software OK except that it says my CD drive needs to be DMA enabled or the recording might sound choppy.

When I attach the device the device manager shows a problem and has the error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I dont think its connected to the DMA problem but might be. I did an internet search and it suggested I uninstall my USB drives and reboot and let them reinstall again, tried that but problem not fixed.

Any ideas?

Anyone else plagued by the bl**dy popup ads from Central Capital & Picture The Loan?

They are getting on my nerves & I can't stop them despite having more than enough blockers (pop-up stopper/firefox ad blocker/ adblock plus/killad/ad-aware) running.

I've specifically added them to the block lists on each of the above progs - anyone got other suggestions?
