How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

I see Arsenal have abandoned the clever penalities tonight.

I haven't laughed so much in years when I saw that over the weekend, great entertainiment.

even as an arsenal fan i had to laugh - at least we won - wouldnt have wanted to be in the dressing room if we had thrown it away!!!

bakko - 26 Oct 2005 14:22 - 5295 of 10502

Hi Steve,

Just came back yesterday and will give this game a miss as at work at mo.

Didn't really miss too much apart from the hilarious slapstick antics of Henry/Pires. Not seen any pictures of it yet but I'm sure I'll catch it over the next week.

Murray breaks Henman in first game of match

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 14:50 - 5298 of 10502

3-0 Murray with 2 breaks - Henman looks awful - both fitness and shot execution

WOODIE - 26 Oct 2005 14:57 - 5299 of 10502

fundy he can only get better?

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 14:59 - 5300 of 10502

at the price id be looking to lay murray but Henman looks truly awful so sitting on my hands

bakko - 26 Oct 2005 15:10 - 5301 of 10502

Just checked Henman's form since Wimbledon........ Only won 3 matches. Pretty dire really.

Henman's profile

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 15:12 - 5302 of 10502

Bak

turn bbc2 on - youll see how poor his form is - some his shot selection and execution is appalling - generally a pretty poor game so far but Murray 5-2 up - Henman hasnt had a single service game that he has won before getting to deuce

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 15:14 - 5303 of 10502

first set 6-2

bakko - 26 Oct 2005 15:28 - 5304 of 10502

Not got TV here but can certainly believe his dire form. He's a player on the decline and could soon call it a day.

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 15:33 - 5305 of 10502

Started much better in second set and has broken Murray - realised his only hope was to chiop and charge murrays second serve and appears to be working

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 15:34 - 5306 of 10502

and then gives the break straight back to love lol

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 16:01 - 5307 of 10502

Murray serving for the match at 5-4 loses the set 7-5 - distinct bottle question!!!

Harlosh - 26 Oct 2005 16:04 - 5308 of 10502

Tried to lay him at 1.4 but didn't get filled.

Taken 1.95. Think Henman will wake up now.

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 16:06 - 5309 of 10502

Murray was matched at 1.04 - ouch!!!

Complete momentum swing - is Murray going to suffer cramp/an injury/etc etc

Fundamentalist - 26 Oct 2005 16:24 - 5310 of 10502

am i right in saying they play a tie break in the third set?

bakko - 26 Oct 2005 16:28 - 5311 of 10502

I think they do play a tie break here. Its only in the grand slams that they carry on in the final set
