Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

This is gripping stuff now...getting rather impatient.....I'll probably miss the big news because of things to do....

hilary - 29 Oct 2010 12:28 - 5301 of 6492

I do hope you're not so impatient when it comes to sex.

cynic - 29 Oct 2010 12:30 - 5302 of 6492

hilary - lots of good (i think) and inappropriate jokes come to mind following your latest

required field - 29 Oct 2010 12:38 - 5303 of 6492

Would have had with my computer a long time ago.....but not sure which gender it is....

HARRYCAT - 29 Oct 2010 13:16 - 5304 of 6492

Ah yes, Cynic. (The one about the old bull, the young bull & the cows in the nxt field.....).
Hilary, it's normally the blokes that get to the subject of sex that quickly!

gibby - 29 Oct 2010 13:17 - 5305 of 6492

up des goes?

cynic - 29 Oct 2010 13:18 - 5306 of 6492

hilary's concern is that young(er) men finish with the subject (or object) of sex too quickly

HARRYCAT - 29 Oct 2010 13:24 - 5307 of 6492

Yes, thanks Cynic, I'm not that daft! ;o) Usually the ladies steer clear of ....... never mind......I think the point has been made.

'Up DES goes'????? Really?

gibby - 29 Oct 2010 13:28 - 5308 of 6492

hc ref up she goes - lol perhaps not just got back to my screen didnt check properly

from another bb:

'All trades above 6x NMS are reported 60 minutes after the time of the actual trade.

In the case of DES, this means asny trades above 30,000 are reported 60 minutes after the time of the actual trade.

If you look 60 mins prior to the 195k trade reported at 11:59 (ie 10:59) you will see the price was indeed 98.75/99.50.

This share is balanced on a knife edge and i haven't known quite what to do. However, it seems that an Institution has clearly decided in favour of selling while the rest of us amoeba are buying. That was enough for me. I'm out for now.

I can't take the risk of losing half my money. I would rather wait for the RNS and buy into a RISING stock once the uncertainty is out of the way. Its much better to buy at a premium KNOWING the outcome of an RNS than risk losing half by staying in on the unknown.

I will be watching out for the RNS and i hope its great news for all you guys staying in. For me though, i'd rather safeguard my money just like the 195k guy/institution'

gibby - 29 Oct 2010 13:29 - 5309 of 6492

i see some peeps elsewhere saying definitely no rns till monday - i reckon they are guessing

hilary - 29 Oct 2010 13:36 - 5310 of 6492

slowly drifting down despite the long bid book that has been that way nearly all day

DD5 - 29 Oct 2010 15:13 - 5315 of 6492

trader here thinks these are worth a small punt as they are likely to have found HC

cynic - 29 Oct 2010 15:15 - 5316 of 6492

trader here thinks that's a load of bollocks, or minimal only at best

DD5 - 29 Oct 2010 15:20 - 5317 of 6492

hence the phrasing of 'small punt'
