As I'm sure you are aware, we and many of you have had a long and tiresome battle with Java when trying to use our streaming services. We have therefore been working on a solution to remove this problem.

We are pleased to announce that we have a new stockwatch available for use which no longer uses Java. We are currently making this available as a technical beta version, which means we are interested in your feedback regarding performance, bugs and browser/operating system/device compatibility issues (note: design and styling will be addressed in later beta releases).

For the purpose of allowing the old and new stockwatch versions to run concurrently, the technical functionality of the new stockwatch mimics the old one for now (not style, fonts or look). Editing and managing watchlists uses the same process as the current java stockwatch but is now at the top of the page. This will allow you to switch between the versions should you have any problems. All technical features of the current stockwatch are available in the new version except for the ability to drag resize columns. In the near future and as we migrate away from the java version of stockwatch, we will add new usability features as well as design it up to make the whole stockwatch experience smoother than it has ever been.

As this new version does not require java, you should expect it to work on your android devices and ipad/iphones. For now the display has not been optimised for smaller screens, but this will come in future development.

NOTE: Due to javascript performance in Internet Explorer 8, this new stockwatch can cause high CPU load. We recommend you use a current version of a modern browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for best results.

Please do not worry about design/style at the moment as this version has not been styled it is purely a technical beta test environment it will be styled before it is released. Hello, when I delete a ticker from my Watch list by entering the ticker in the QUICK EDIT box and hit REMOVE, the stock watch then displays to a different Watch List (even though the ticker is deleted from the correct watchlist.

The change on ex dividend stocks is STILL wrong.

See UU today, change shown on stockwatch just -6.47 but the stock is down 30.5 on the TRADES page.

PLEASE can this be fixed ?

Using on Google Chrome and no problems. I hate Java!

This is a new one. After the trades page has been open for a couple of minutes, it flashes to a black backgound which clears immediately, then the all trades are listed in two complete sets one after the other. When selecting "go" the condition clears back to the normal single list dispay.

This happens on two different machines at two different locations, although both use the latest Firefox.

On Stockwatch, do your colours looked dimmer (reds and blues) within the data area anyone?

Looks like the background has altered (darkened), I think.

We had to merge the code-base for the new HTML Trades and Stockwatch so now they share a colour style. Having them separate caused the re-emergence of the old duplicate trades / flashing black problem when the Stockwatch was recently patched to remove trade data from previous days.

Is it just me or have the colours gone all faded?

I'm specifically referring to the red, green and blue colours used for the numbers in the Mid, Mid Chg, % Chg, Bid and Offer columns.

I use the notes column, which in my opinion is the one of the best things about stockwatch and as of today 20/6 the box has shrunk to a minuscule size. I know you can drag it out, but in my opinion it was MUCH better when you could just click on and read all of this size message without messing about. Can we have the bigger box back please! Or I'll sulk.

I thouht my eyesight was playing up this morning when I saw the colours...

Would it be possible to add a VWAP coluln to the stocklists ?

Id not et a peadshee since updting t Window 7 jut the surrounding info - e.g.manage watchlsts etc

Sounds like your machine is not rendering the page correctly - can you try a different browser to see if you can replicate?
