As mentioned during yesterdays meet:
For the first time in six years, it is now possible to earn interest on your savings of 7%. The recent rise in the cost of lending between banks, which has pushed up some mortgage rates, is now leading to higher savings on some accounts.

Well, I've never bought a bank before .... don't really plan to start right now.... but in future they might present an even better 'recovery' play than 'today' if events keep unfolding....

And we still have no indication of "who owes who what" in America or over here yet -):

I thought China and the Saudis owned America.
Forgot the Israelies' Share.
Think it is time to duck now. 8-)
I think when this period of market turmoil has finished and the hysteria has settle down, it will be seen as a lot of over reaction.
My feeling the real fly in the ointment is the Middle East, especially present warmongering against Iran. The drop out from Iraq and a little later similar from Afghanistan.
Also more important China's 10% inflation and whether they might dump the dollar hoard to embarras the American economy.
Tricky. Meanwhile I am holding on, but wishing a bit that like you and Survivor was watching.

Decorating finished .... so already for annual ArtsFest weekend now .... unfortunately it looks like it might be the last one before the Council axe it.
PS: Presume the following venue is off the radar for the next meeting:
Fast food giant McDonald's has been fined 13,500 after a metal bolt was found in a snack at a West Midlands shopping centre. (Merry Hill).

Wonder who got the nut....
PS: This seems to be the third most 'active' board so far today om moneyam. For some reason, Northern Rock seems to be the most active.
