THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Mr Salmond said David Cameron would be punished by the electorate for bringing up English devolution the morning after Scotland voted to stay in the UK by 55 per cent to 45 per cent.

"We won’t give succour, help, assistance to the Conservative Party and the reason is David Cameron waltzing out of Downing Street and showing his true face the morning after the referendum," he said.

Well said Alex, stop the Tory Cheats in there tracks.

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 12:43 - 53371 of 81564

I see in another sleasy move the Tories getting through legislation late yesterday to pay for another GE.

Devious Dave and his boys at there devious best.

Only trouble is Labour will win and govern with the SNP.

And when results for the Tory peodos surface the Tory party will become a small fringe party.

Haystack - 19 Dec 2014 13:30 - 53372 of 81564

The biggest mistake was allowing devolution for what was really a region of England and then allowing it to have a referendum. I have never liked the concept of the UK or Great Britain. It is all England.

Nice chart...

aldwickk - 19 Dec 2014 13:38 - 53374 of 81564

the European Union Court decided that when it comes to employment, obesity can be considered a disability that must be accommodated just like being blind or being deaf must be accommodated. Bigger chairs, parking spots closer to doors, etc.

So one can see the writing on the wall now. This court decision of “obesity is a disability” was narrowly limited to workplace employment but its only a small leap before it is more widely applied. Schools that have to have larger seats and provide mobility carts for obese teens. Airlines who have to give free first class seats to obese people who cant fit in those skinny coach seats. So to get in that coveted first class cabin in the airplane all you have to do is eat a lot of pizza? Sign me up!

aldwickk - 19 Dec 2014 13:43 - 53375 of 81564

I blame a lot of obesity on Food Banks , poor people are getting fatter.

cynic - 19 Dec 2014 13:43 - 53376 of 81564

sticky - as you know, i only look at the political nonsense on this thread in a very desultory way
however, it has been quite entertaining to see how your own stance has tended to shift with the wind
we'll leave aside that you claimed to have been a lifelong and active conservative member and contributor until the last year or maybe two ..... interesting that having decided you despise the present bunch and that is the only reason you switched allegiance, you now also loudly castigate earlier tory gov'ts .... somewhat inconsistent i would have thought

anyway, until very recently indeed, you not only proclaimed from the rooftops about how a labour working majority was a hot racing certainty - not nearly as forthright on that now are you - but you also regularly held up the ashroft polls as being the great and true indicator
strange you haven't been mentioning those of late either .... why would that be?

happy christmas old chap, though i'm sure we'll have a good number mutual posts before that day :-)

cynic - 19 Dec 2014 13:45 - 53377 of 81564

perhaps the rumour that foodbanks predominantly offer biscuits, cakes, crisps and other sweet and fatty foods has an element of truth then :-)

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 13:46 - 53378 of 81564

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

Hils you obviously havent seen

1. YOUGOV poll......... labour 5 points in front this morning

2. Ex Tory Cabinet ministers in peodo ring investigations. Thatcher said to have known all about it.

hilary - 19 Dec 2014 13:47 - 53379 of 81564

Remind us all again, Cyners, how much did Fishfinger donate to the Tories?

£100k grand wasn't it?

:o)

cynic - 19 Dec 2014 13:47 - 53380 of 81564

sticky .... not mentioning the ashcroft poll? ..... why would that be?

btw, you may like to have a peek at post 53379

aldwickk - 19 Dec 2014 13:49 - 53381 of 81564

Soup kitchens much more healthy

hilary - 19 Dec 2014 13:51 - 53382 of 81564

I hope they don't do minestrone soup, Alders. Do you happen to know if they do gazpacho? Or maybe lobster bisque?

cynic - 19 Dec 2014 13:52 - 53383 of 81564

the edifice of the old jewish soup kitchen of 1902 in whitechapel high street still stands

that was "proper" welfare state where each community looked after its own without an overweaning and interfering nanny

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 13:52 - 53384 of 81564

Cynic how do you mean labour are still in front with Ashcrofts polls, i trust you havent seen the one he brought out mid week thinking it was just mondays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cynic - 19 Dec 2014 13:54 - 53385 of 81564

seemingly not .... or is the below just MORI .... interesting whichever it is

doodlebug4 - 19 Dec 2014 11:10 - 53368 of 53387

Latest MORI poll and Ashcroft constituency polling
18 DEC 2014
Today we’ve the final Ipsos MORI monthly poll of 2014 and the last 2014 batch of Lord Ashcroft’s constituency polling (the keenly awaited Scottish marginals polling is taking place next year).
MORI’s monthly poll has topline figures of CON 32%(nc), LAB 29%(nc), LDEM 9%(nc), UKIP 13%(-1), GRN 9%(+2). The Conservatives are three points ahead, but as ever it’s the trend that counts and there is no difference from last month for the main parties here. Note the Greens though – nine points is another new record high for them.

Haystack - 19 Dec 2014 13:55 - 53386 of 81564

Yougov polls showing 5 ahead are just outliers in the data. You will get anomalies from time to time.

goldfinger - 19 Dec 2014 13:56 - 53387 of 81564

Yes obviously not Cyners LOL.

aldwickk - 19 Dec 2014 13:56 - 53388 of 81564

hils

Only if Lidl customers donate it

Haystack - 19 Dec 2014 13:57 - 53389 of 81564
