'Ello,'ello,'ello. 'evenin all, t'other day in Dock Geen I said to Andy.....
remember those immortal lines, every Sat night, BBC at 6pm.
Da, da-da, da,da-da-da, da, da-da-da-da-da, da, da, da, da.

Nostalgia just ain't what it used to be, mind, since they drilled my sinus's it's better than it was....

MightyMicro - 22 Apr 2004 20:37 - 5349 of 23498

Good evening, one and all, large glass of the house Claret and I'll just slump in the corner with this damned Ghost . . .

jj50 - 22 Apr 2004 22:29 - 5351 of 23498

Good evening!
Mighty Micro, can I join you for a large glass of the house Claret - sounds really inviting?
Little Willie, I am not going to admit remembering Dixon of Dock Green; think I had to get ready for bed when the signature tune came on ..........!

jeffmack - 22 Apr 2004 23:12 - 5352 of 23498

I was allowed to stay up for Z.Cars

MightyMicro - 22 Apr 2004 23:15 - 5353 of 23498

jj50: you certainly can, have this one on me.

Dixon of Dock Green -- i (just) remember that. I remember being allowed to stay up to watch the 8 o'clock news with the signature of the Ally Pally aerial and the radio waves radiating outwards . . .

Socrates - 22 Apr 2004 23:34 - 5354 of 23498

Do any of you crowd remember BT? That's "Before Television" for the uninitiated. What I shall never forget is the Ovaltinies on 208 Radio Luxemburg.

Now that's nostalgia!

So much for the past and now for the present. My present is the biggest sherry trifle the universe has ever seen so I will just dive in and get eating.

By the way, I would watch that house Claret if I were you, do they really make Claret in Patagonia?

MightyMicro - 23 Apr 2004 00:17 - 5355 of 23498

Radio Luxembourg! 208 metres on the Medium Wave!! Excuse me while I wipe a tear from my eye. Where I first heard Elvis Presley. This is all too much. We'll be talking about the Goon Show next . . .

optomistic - 23 Apr 2004 09:48 - 5356 of 23498

Good Morning all, must come back to the future, the grass needs cutting again. Will call in for refreshments later.

stockbunny - 23 Apr 2004 14:48 - 5357 of 23498

Hope the grass is shorter but greener for you Opto - I'm peering
at the hedge outside, which appears to have woken up from
the winter to grow with a vengence.

Before TV????.....Hmmmmm I must have been a twinkle in Daddy Bunny's
eye at that time, I remember black and white - an achievement
according to my kids of dubious merit! - but before TV - No 'fraid not.

Little Woman - the weather's better now isn't it? Brighter and
happier all round!! (I finished the dreaded tax return yesterday
and sent it off today, so doubly happy for me today!!)

Poochy = tell that ghost he's not allowed in the ladies please, he
keep materialising in the bowl and it's very off-putting!!!!!

snoball - 23 Apr 2004 14:59 - 5358 of 23498

Good afternoon y'all.
Just got in from cutting the grass. Lawn looks like a billiard table. A nice cup of tea and a cream bun will go down very nicely now.

stockbunny - 23 Apr 2004 15:06 - 5359 of 23498

Must be catching this desire to cut grass!!!

stockbunny - 23 Apr 2004 15:47 - 5360 of 23498

I'm outta here - too beautiful and sunny to be inside!!
Taking my mug of tea out into the yard....

Socrates - 23 Apr 2004 17:41 - 5361 of 23498

The hills are alive with the sound of.................................................................................................................................... lawn mowers!

Jolly good day for my portfolio today, what a whizz.

optomistic - 23 Apr 2004 18:03 - 5362 of 23498

Finished the grass marathon, cut mine and my elderly neighbours two lawns. Then just for good measure I replaced a rotten fence post, easy until it came to removing the concrete at the base. Why didn't they have metal fenceing spikes some 30 years back! All done now, why isn't my portfolio as productive!!

hightone - 23 Apr 2004 21:10 - 5363 of 23498

PING PING
