Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 10:00 - 5353 of 12628

Dumbo,

I wouldn't wish to meet you when you are dossing out in the "Calais jungle" and will avoid the area.

VICTIM - 16 Sep 2016 10:02 - 5354 of 12628

I think he misses out Calais altogether jimmy , goes some other route , he's very committed to his causes you know .

jimmy b - 16 Sep 2016 10:08 - 5355 of 12628

All mouth ,like most drunks.

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 10:37 - 5356 of 12628

Dumbo.

You seem to me, to have great knowledge of such and still suffering the after effects.

jimmy b - 16 Sep 2016 10:47 - 5357 of 12628

I don't drink Fred told you that before but i guess you can't remember .also post 5354 ,why would i be in the Calais Jungle , you will avoid the area because you are a typical hypocrite ,one who sits in his chair shouting and would do nothing to help.

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 11:17 - 5358 of 12628

Are you sure?

Strange, for me, your utterances belie those statements.

-=-=-=-=

Have a better day.

grannyboy - 16 Sep 2016 13:20 - 5359 of 12628

On the Daily Politics program they had a report from Bratislava, and one of the
pieces reported were regarding a european army and they had a couple of these
euro fanatics giving their views, obviously stating they were in favour, then
it went back to the studio's and Andrew Neil stated to the two MP's that were there
that both of them had denied before the referendum that a european army
was planned and that they'd castagated the LEAVE side for stating that was going
to happen.

But this woman MEP said it was just a story, totally ignoring the fact these
statements were coming straight from the horses mouths...Can you believe
how much these people are still in denial......

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 13:40 - 5360 of 12628

Many think it would be a sensible move for an EU joint military forces and R+D.

Britain out of the EU makes it easier to happen.

Think USA wants out of NATO and its expenses.

cynic - 16 Sep 2016 14:07 - 5361 of 12628

fred - do you think that the brexit vote has proved to be the catalyst in galvanising action by the french and germans in particular, to tackle the deep dissatisfaction and more felt across all member states, especially with regard to the immigration issue and all that that entails?

grannyboy - 16 Sep 2016 14:17 - 5362 of 12628

The USA puts in 70% of the cost and manpower in NATO, if they get pissed off
they could leave europe to stew. Because with the UK leaving the EU, so not
joining any euro army, the main responsibility will fall on France's armed forces..

VICTIM - 16 Sep 2016 15:08 - 5363 of 12628

Where do you get the " many think " thing from Freda is this just another suits my argument phrase . 5361 .

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 17:00 - 5364 of 12628

Manuel,

I had written a longer reply but have filed it.

It is obvious that there are some disgruntle individuals or groups in an organisation as big as the EU.

(Listen to a program, this morning on an interview of somebody who wanted to change to the "driving" regulations relating to cars passing bikes on the roads in England. I thought it only needed common sense on both sides, ie, motorists and cyclists, until one realised that in case of damage, prosecution and recompensation for damages and somebody has to make the decisions.)

When one feels offended it is always the other who gets blamed.

I feel it would be more sensible to remain in the club and negotiate by persuasion rather than attempting diktat, for changes or Rules and Regulations which are sensible and necessary.

I have 4 daughters, all of whom have worked or work in various EU countries and Canada, America and Australia and they have always had friendly and helpful acceptance in those countries and only had friendly nationalistic "banter".

One has a PhD in Marine Biology MSc etc. and thinks the fishing regulations are reasonable and justifiable attempt to maintain "fishing fields". Applications of the rules are not so good. The fault of all countries concerned.

Another daughter has a PhD and MSc etc. working for Home Office and was travelling back and fore to Brussels examining, investigating and trying to draw up rules and regulations to resolve the "immigration" problems.

She refers to it as a constant headache, but they are trying.

But again to resolve the "immigration" needs action by the many, not the few.

If we have or benefit from the countries who have the "problems", we have a responsibility to them.

Again it will end in negotiation.
=-=-=-

Again it is better to be in the club negotiating than outside and blustering.

Chris Carson - 16 Sep 2016 17:09 - 5365 of 12628

Think your daughters are trying to tell you something Freda? Going to the ends of the World to get away from you would be my guess!

cynic - 16 Sep 2016 17:37 - 5366 of 12628

fred - that wasn't the question i asked you, so please refer back .....
however, it is interesting to note that this bratislava conference (suddenly) has immigration high on its list and that one of the "big grey suits" talks of grave concerns about the amount and depth of dissatisfaction with the eu structure across the whole eurozone ...... i'm sure i haven't distorted that

Fred1new - 16 Sep 2016 17:52 - 5367 of 12628

Manuel.

The EU is evolving.

Dissatisfactions and immigration problems were already recognised and being addressed in the backrooms of the EU.

But unlike the previous UK government, those considering the problems realise that there is no immediate rush to the media with ill-thought out plans.

Of course, if you have a practical and plausible solution I will be happy to read it.

cynic - 16 Sep 2016 20:13 - 5368 of 12628

oh i see; so you have insight into the "backrooms of the eu" do you? ..... isn't life full of surprises

i have no idea how things will pan out, but personally i am very certain that uk's vote to leave has been very much a catalyst in waking the eu plutocrats from their slumber .... certainly brexit has galavanised the widespread opposition to the way eu is currently being run

am i comfortable that uk will be entering uncharted waters?
of course not

jimmy b - 16 Sep 2016 23:06 - 5369 of 12628

Dissatisfactions and immigration problems were already recognised and being addressed in the backrooms of the EU.

Oh dear Fred you really are full of bullshit .

--------------------------------------------

One has a PhD in Marine Biology MSc etc. and thinks the fishing regulations are reasonable and justifiable attempt to maintain "fishing fields".

Really ,is she talking about the amount of fish in the sea or who has the percentage of fishing for them.

grannyboy - 16 Sep 2016 23:21 - 5370 of 12628

Fred1 5365

I can understand why YOU are a europhile and, so biased in your opinions,
when your daughters are/have been involved with work connected to the EU.

One of your daughters claim that "the fishing regulations are reasonable and
justifiable attempt to maintain "fishing fields"

There has not been a reduction in fishing in BRITISH waters, the fishing rights
have been allocated to other countries from the EU, British fisherman have had
their quota's cut, and the wastes have been atrocious, when the fish caught have
been the wrong size or not the species licensed to catch, which are thrown back
into the sea whether they're dead or alive, mostly dead.

And you call that preservation?????..

MaxK - 17 Sep 2016 00:00 - 5371 of 12628

It ticks the right €U box granny....job done.

VICTIM - 17 Sep 2016 07:07 - 5372 of 12628

It's typical of Freda whatever suits his argument in his mind , that's why he gets pounded every time he remarks .
