Football, What chances !, World Cup, Euro, Clubs, for all : home and away ! (FC)

required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Under 21's beat Italy 3- 2 last night....friendly....good result as Italy have always been excellent at that level......
Scotland tonight.....always reminds me of a time when I was at Charings Cross Station the morning of the game catching a train to Ramsgate and it had been raining overnight and loads of Scottish fans found shelter there....three little elderly Scottish ladies with squeaky trolleys were looking for the train to Dover I think for a short trip to France when they were approached by the Scottish mass and one of the fans shouted out in a broad accent : "Heay ! That's not the way to Wembley !" as they were about to board the train.....really funny.....I thought.....the game later that day ?...2-0 to England ...Bryan Robson was one of the scorers I think......

Dil - 11 Nov 2016 09:42 - 5367 of 6918

Hope Scotland stuff you , might get yourselves a decent manager then.

Southgate and Allardyce have just continued with the same crap that got you nowhere at the last WC and Euro's.

Can't see it happening though and Southgate will get the job til after the next WC.

Are those letters to mean something else ?......I think England might win but I doubt it will be easy.....

Dil - 11 Nov 2016 09:51 - 5369 of 6918

I think it'll be easy if Strachan continues his policy of picking his mates instead of the players in form.

And we'll done to the FA and SFA on their poppy stance. Welsh and Irish FA should be ashamed of themselves.

required field - 11 Nov 2016 10:08 - 5370 of 6918

Storm in a teacup this poppy quarrel.....keeps the media happy ......something to talk about.....Fifa are at fault it seems....it's not advertising.....

Dil - 12 Nov 2016 08:27 - 5371 of 6918

Oh well Southgate it is then.

Good luck with that.

Worldclass attacking display by England.....superb.....unfortunately we are let down by schoolboy defensive mistakes at times....if the opponents had been one of the major countries we could have been 3-1 down easily...and try to back from that.....have to feel sorry for the Scots...played quite well and nearly exposed Englands frailties at the back......they should retain Gordon Strachan as manager !.....that was a good jock display overall....

Chris Carson - 12 Nov 2016 10:37 - 5373 of 6918

John Stones £48 mill LOL!!!

Spain will murder this English team on this form. Both teams are poor. England took their chances Scotland didn't.

Claret Dragon - 12 Nov 2016 13:14 - 5374 of 6918

I hope Scotland make play offs. Need to be more ruthless in front of goal. England will win group but how we do in Russia is a concern.

Dil - 20 Nov 2016 10:58 - 5375 of 6918

That Everton goal was a nice end to the day ... Swansea bottom and let's hope they stay there.

10 points from Warnock's first 6 games for Cardiff is a good return. Previous 6 games yielded just 3.

ExecLine - 20 Nov 2016 14:14 - 5376 of 6918

My home team, Northampton, have lost their last two games from opposition goals scored in the final minutes of extra time.

Grrrr!

Dil - 21 Nov 2016 11:09 - 5377 of 6918

Cobblers :-)

Chris Carson - 21 Nov 2016 22:05 - 5378 of 6918

Dil - 22 Nov 2016 08:56 - 5379 of 6918

Great result for WBA at the weekend and up into the top half of the table. However WBA are like Christmas lights the come down in the new year, in the meantime I will enjoy this unexpected run of good results.

Claret Dragon - 05 Dec 2016 12:52 - 5381 of 6918

Not been a good start to the season. Every team coming for a kick about have had decent performances. Still waiting for one from the Home team.
