Also Biotec are still going to supply Earthshell, who are suppliers to McDonalds, so maybe we will see a tie up with Earthshell for Stanelco's process of foaming starch trays 10x faster than the current heat based method :)

Based on the same logic, McDonalds in Austria and Sweden have initiated a long-term program to replace all its non-compostable material into compostable ones. The program is strengthened by the fact that McDonalds will even suggest that its suppliers of tomatoes, potatoes and salads begin converting to compost as fertilizer instead of the synthetic alternative. Imagine McDonalds, long a symbol for waste, promoting organically grown food, fertilized with its waste, based on an integrated system, which secures that nothing, is wasted. Even the trucks could be powered by methane gas generated in the process.

For those who say it is not a potential dilution coming- 25M US$ for a loss making company - which may or may not help them cut costs on something they are not selling now - nice idea - why not issue 100M shares and keep the leftover to pay salaries of this German company - you know what German labour laws are like - IMO Biotec could suck any leftover cash out of SEO with its debts and losses.

Have they done decent due dilligence or bare minimum to CYA - do they know German labour laws - very different to the UK ones.

They will probably pay 25M US$ for something thats worth very little to them in all reality - and it happens all the time this kind of "whoops nice idea shame it did not work in reality" buyouts and takeovers.

This confusion that causes the uncertainty and the fall in the SP of the buyer - for nobody really knows that lies deep in the account books - whats "hidden" - whats the reality - what was the deal - what are different country labour law implications - debt servicing - and for all the positive gloss - they nearly always end in problems for the buyer short to mid term.

In general the buyer takes a large hit on their SP and the one being bought gets a rise.

The stockmarket is riddled with buy outs that cause short to mid term cash problems - will this be yet another - especially as its one loss making firm buying another loss making firm.

The big picture maybe - the speed with which is was done shows perhaps IMO purely potential CYA due dilligence - are they rushing it as they want to do the shares issue (dilution) before the interims are reported ?? This is the most likely reason behind the speed and rush - get the shares off before you report the losses IMO !

That doesn't make any sense at all. The world knows SEO's results will be bad, but that was for a period when the company was entirely different to its current form. How they pay for their acquisition is open to a number of possibilities, including the issue of more shares at possibly higher levels than now when further orders have been announced. Why not wait and see? I doubt that SEO will test your patience for long.

As you said they do supply McDonald's, this is excellent news this is what this board was talking about over a year ago deposable cartons/box's, as it was said in an earlier post it takes the pressure of Green seal, and just adds to an ever increasing list of products in the SEO portfolio we are seeing this company turning its self into a major player in this field if not the biggest.

Kiv, I think you are an optimist. the B/S ratio is 43/55 on very small volumes and i think with any info like which has been released there is generally a stand and stare period.
I have been away for 3-4 days sleeping in a field. I was horrified to see over 200 updates to this thread but was delighted to find that because I had already Squelched Jak, II, Pauline, Sequestration, Chichi it cut about 80% of the inane contributions.

EVO note sounds good, and I bet Khashoggi wishes he had taken shares in SEO a year ago, when Stanelco made their first offer for Biotec .... they would be worth 100m now :))))

Biotec to apply for more Patents within weeks

Until those Patent applications are announced we won't be told what is in the Biotec pipeline, but any Greenseal benefits will become clear.

Stanelco can licence a complete sealing and packaging solution, of Greenseal plus trays and film, and Greenseal plus thermoforming sheet.

In the medium term Biotec may have a huge impact.Short term apart from a relatively small placing, not much impact

Having 'lurked' for sometime I have followed this thread with interest - and bought in to SEO!

Although disappointed by today's slight fall, I agree with Sharesure. My view is that this company restructuring itself well to cover a perceived weakness.

Wal-Mart CIBC note out today, makes some good statements.

Potential acceleration of growth. The company sees the potential for another 3,900 Supercenters(1200 from converted discount centers) with 950 of them already internally processed.

ASDA facing difficult retailing trends in the UK, pressuring sales and profit near term, but is reacting to the trends by offering better value, new differentiated products, and improved customer service, while trimming costs. The main priority is now to drive sales through increasing value and reducing costs.

Possible expansion into India, Wal-Mart sees India as a $250Bn retail opportunity, with the largest educated, english speaking population in the world, with the fastest growing middle class.

I am aware how the Indian government work, and how it worked in the past to outsiders, I worked there way back in the late 70's.
The project was Bombay High and the projest was partially funded by the World Bank. How times have changed.
India imo is a far better place for Walmart to invest in than China. It is a massive and mature market these days.

lemminginvestor suggest it is traders selling into strength, not sure myself as there was no gain to sell into.

I think it is more likely that selling, was by those thinking about a possible placing to raise the cash to buy Biotec, although IMVHO institutions will be hammering on the door to get such a big chunk of SEO, and there is always the option of borrowing, especially if management are expecting a USA deal soon, and that could pay the loan off in no time.
