Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

jimmy b: You are more than welcome to stay as are other posters but we have to try and control the language and tone at times. We have had many complaints but generally let other posters calm things down. We had some very serious complaints yesterday ,hence our action.

Back to business. I like the tone of the Lilley article which has solutions rather than problems. I'm not qualified to say he is right except it is better to go ahead and be firm and let the commission react, rather than dither and try to negotiate with someone who is deliberately intent on making matters difficult. Guy Verhofstadt is no friend of the UK and how can you be serious with a 63 year-old that continues to comb his hair over his brow like a schoolboy?
Better to tell him what we are going to do and let him upset the car makers, flower sellers and farmers of Europe.

The Peter Lilley article is quite correct, as i've said on numerous occasions
previously, the EU will lose more then the UK will, and the UK needs to invoke
article 50 as soon as possible to put pressure on before the French/German
elections start next year, and the pound stays low....

Remainers still moaning and groaning on Question Time yesterday and now claiming they respect the wishes of the public but should be another referendum on the deal we negotiate to leave.
Not going to happen.

the peter lilley article is certainly very interesting, but it should not be forgotten that it comes from a very partisan angle
that by no means voids the points he is making, but nor should they be taken as being empirical ..... indeed, they are "best guess" albeit that pl is sincere

Like the 1975 referendum?

Manuel.
I like buying something when I don't know the price.
Good business sense.
I suppose it is alright when somebody else is going to pay the bill.
