Sefton Resources - a SCREAMING BUY at this price - small-cap oil producer (SER)

mjr1234 - 10 Nov 2005 12:44

This stock looks like the most undervalued oil company on the stock exchange. >
Sefton Resources epic SER. It is currently trading at a price of 0.275p valueing the whole company at just 4M.

You might look at the market cap and assume that this company is just an explorer or a shell, but in fact Sefton is producing over 6000 barrels of oil per month with a monthly revenue of over $300k. It's recent work on it's Tapia oilfield exceeded expectations, meaning the company hit it's 200BOPD target 5 months early, and is now expecting resource and production estimates to be further upgraded. This is before it embarks on a steam-assisted programme early next year which
could see production rates multiplied 2-4 times! It is also looking at drilling further wells on the rich Tapia field in the light of the better than expected results.

So why is it only valued at 4M? The primary reason is lack of awareness of the stock, the sub-1p price puts many people off straight away, and a large overhang.

A year or so ago the company was put in financial dire straits by a
well blowout and had to undertake large discounted placings to get
itself back on track, which it has done with a vengeance. However,
some of these placing shares, which represent some 25% of the company
are being sold into the market, depressing the price so that despite the fact that the companies prospects have improved dramatically over
the past year, the price has dropped by nearly 60%.

This makes the company an absolute bargain at these rock-bottom prices. In 6 months time I expect this to be worth 3-5 times the current price. SERIOUSLY.

There is plenty of research to get your teeth into, the best place to start is the website :

www.seftonresources.com

There are 2 excellent articles on Sefton on the following website by Ian Mclelland (Jan/Feb 2006) - well worth a read to get up to speed on this company and it's prospects:

Oh right, and to think I thought you were Sue Helen in disguise. Nice to know who that is now.

I see there are plenty of decent buyers at this price, who seem completely unpeturbed by the spread - see another 1M at 0.50p.

I think the MM's are reluctant to raise the bid as this would cause a chart breakout and fuel even more buying - could be significantly more.
I think they will wait until the last possible moment before letting this go, but I don't think it will be much longer.

I'm amazed that people will buy on such a wide spread.

The mm is making more than a cut here, 1.2k profit for Wins methinks
by taking the million at 0.38p and selling it on for .5p.

mjr1234 - 23 Feb 2006 12:32 - 545 of 1047

Are WINS on both the bid and the offer?

ravey davy gravy - 23 Feb 2006 12:57 - 546 of 1047

No.

Any mm can take any sell or buy not just the mm's that quote the
bid and offer price.

mjr1234 - 23 Feb 2006 13:05 - 547 of 1047

The thing is ravey, the MM's and their spreads are just a fact of life that we can do nothing about. For a lot of people investing in this stock, they will not be in the remotest bit interested in "beating the MM's" or micro-timing their trade to try and get the absolute best possible price. If someone likes the prospects and wants to invest say 5k for the long-term, and maybe has a target price of say 1p in 6 months (very conservative imo), and they think the current offer price is cheap, then they are not going to be bothered about the bid/offer spread. In fact the bid price when you purchase your stock is completely irrelevant for the investor.
For short-term traders it is of course a different matter, but I wouldn't have thought they'd be many of those in this stock.

SH17 - 23 Feb 2006 16:10 - 551 of 1047

very hard to buy....max amount of 2000 for normal spread... ended up with a shed load at .55.... so now they can go through the roof :+)

mjr1234 - 23 Feb 2006 16:14 - 552 of 1047

How much is a shed load if you don't mind me asking?

SH17 - 23 Feb 2006 16:17 - 553 of 1047

rhino213 - 23 Feb 2006 18:24 - 555 of 1047

Sorry to sound like a plank here but what is MM short for? Nice to see a rise today by the way. I'm in profit already after only a week.

explosive - 23 Feb 2006 19:46 - 556 of 1047

Rhino - MM = Market Makers, glad to see your in profit, me too however been in this share for many moons, before I even discovered Moneyam for that matter.

tizzamark1 - 23 Feb 2006 19:58 - 557 of 1047

Explosive - I hesitated - I lost!!!!

explosive - 23 Feb 2006 20:11 - 558 of 1047

Tizzamark1 - Just backtracked a few pages to see exactly what you meant by "I hesitated - I lost!!".... Don't be too hard on yourself I have been in on these for years, can remember when the price was .65 which I personaly think we'll return to then run on.... If you have money to put to sleep for a long termer then SER is still an attractive buy. Also highly likely a small fall will occur as is the norm with this share.... Good luck what ever you decide..

tizzamark1 - 23 Feb 2006 20:17 - 559 of 1047

Explosive - cheers, I have a small amount of cash burning a hole so will continue to watch and hopefully take the plunge tomorrow if price prevails. Well done to those who have profited so far and good luck all.

explosive - 23 Feb 2006 20:23 - 560 of 1047

No probs Tizz - I am currently looking for a oil & gas or miner to further my portfolio with. Whats the attraction to SER then for you?

cellby - 23 Feb 2006 20:28 - 561 of 1047

this ones made up for my other oils falling today, goo, eme, mrp, txo, mxp, the total of these is about same as ser be interesting to see where they stand in a year.buys at .5 and aboVe should keep the presure under ser,are the seller going to moVe in if bid hits .5 100% for lucky few.bought a few aeL today seem to be doing good things down under.

mjr1234 - 23 Feb 2006 20:53 - 562 of 1047

I think the people who average 0.25p-0.30p could be taken out in about 2 days at the moment, even if every single one of them decided to sell out with 100% profit!
