Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

How do you "overhaul entire mechanism of Government finance"?
Surely that's just another way of saying increase taxes?
Cos they are not going to touch the untouchables such as public sector waste/pensions/perks etc.

Form today's Independent
Miliband is absolutely clear that he won’t give the public a vote on whether to stay in the European Union or campaign to leave. He says he wants the political union to reform itself to better service Britain’s interests instead.

Milliband is a plank, no one in their right mind will vote for him.
Cleggy is booked into the Brussels Hilton for after the election (services rendered)
Call Me cant be trusted with anything to do with Brussels, he loves the place and wants to stay.
Greens are just barmy from start to finish.
Where else is a bloke to go?

Lol, the guy is completely clueless. A doorstep salesman by his own admission - knocking on 4million doors in the next 4 months!!

The Labour leader said his activists would be knocking on more doors than ever in order to meet “everyday working people”. A well-meaning idea, although, given that “everyday working people” tend to work every day, there must be a slight risk they won’t be at home when the activists call. In which case, Labour activists will either have to make do with everyday non-working people, or visit everyday working people at their everyday workplaces instead.

Max.
Try a Mental, or Psychiatric Hospital if there are any left after the tory re-organisations.

I think I have just listen to George and his henchmen lying again, or should I say falsifying figures or writing fiction.
Jesus he is blatant, but seems to fit in with No 10.
Now hearing "Hancock's half hour" lying about reducing the deficit of 4 years.

I might even vote!

The behaviour of Miliband such as not being able to look people in the eye, being pretty gauche at times, eating food in a strange way, not being sure of the correct behaviour in social situations, getting embarrassed when giving money to a beggar all smack of someone who has symptoms of Aspergers syndrome. Aspergers sufferers can often do normal jobs with some being professors, teachers, accountants etc. The problem for someone in Miliband's situation is that people with Aspergers do not cope well with stress, tending to freeze like a rabbit in the headlights.

Is Cameron still ducking Miliband, Farage and Clegg in a televised debate?
Perhaps, The Salmond might join them.
If Cameron ducks, I think the four others should have 3 debates on the question of the Tories legacy.

Cameroon will have to do the debates, otherwise he will be called a coward and lose votes.

Well, Cameroon will throttle Millibandus, and the others will nail Cameroon.
I can quite understand why he doesent want to do a debate.

sorry to interrupt the tinnitus-inducing political droning, but try commenting on something a bit more pertinent ....
affordable housing
prefabs were built with such an idea in mind, with an expected life expectancy of perhaps 10 years .... some lasted 50+
the modern alternative is or could be dry freight boxes
these are already used for site office and living accommodation
even when new, these boxes only cost about £1500, and are a fraction of that if 2nd-hand
you now have your sound basic structure that will last at least as long as predicted for a prefab
they can easily be insulated and made more than adequately comfortable
they don't need foundations
they can be stacked up to 6 high - 3 high would be more than enough
they can be put on brownfield sites with the minimum of fuss
on brownfield sites, basic facilities will often already be in place
job done!

Why don't you start your own thread cynic if you find this one so boring.I don't find it fascinating to read your posts about where you bought your various Christmas presents, or which pies you like etc.,etc. What might seem more pertinent to you personally might be boring to others!

I hope Farage doesn't take part in the debates. I don't want there to be any more outlets for his nonsense. I see him as NF or BNP trying to get power on the sly. A thoroughly dangerous person.

just as i don't bother to read 99% of the political polemic posted here, no one obliges you to read my much shorter and less frequent posts
but as i know you're really excited about this subject, i'll explain why i posted about my on line christmas shopping ....
it was primarily triggered in response to sticky's earlier observations about JL's christmas sales figures, which i am sure you read most studiously
or perhaps you'ld care to exercise your few grey cells on the subject of affordable housing .....
or can you not think of anything disparaging to say about that?

I like cynic's posts. He is a breath of sanity here. This thread should be mor of a mix of topics and not just politics. I must say that I also bought all Xmas presents online, including crackers, wrapping paper, IPhone, tablet, new corkscrew, books, new bed for spare room, duvet, pillows and lots besides. I hardly ever buy from real shops.

Why don't you and sticky start your own love-in thread. It isn't rocket science to appreciate that online sales are making a huge impact on high street store sales - whether it's John Lewis, Next, Marks etc.

I agree that the thread should be a mix of topics Haystack, but cynic is always whinging when he doesn't want to contribute to a particular debate. He must be a lot of fun at a dinner party.
