THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

stable - is your info actually correct - ie fully up to date? ..... i was certainly under the impression that oldham were proceeding having been assured that their main sponsor would stand by them

whether or not the guy should be taken on by oldham at all is a different argument

EL - it is exactly this lack or remorse that sticks in the throat ..... he's welcome to maintain his innocence (whether true or not), but at the very least he should be apologising for what was at best a "misunderstanding of wish"

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 13:25 - 54578 of 81564

His conviction is currently under investigation and yes he is appealing.

He has served his time and people are punishing him further by denying him the chance to earn his living. Even if he is guilty there is no obligation to show remorse.

This is all about pressure from a politically correct aggressive minority. They should be ignored and football clubs be allowed to make their choices without interference.

cynic - 08 Jan 2015 13:36 - 54579 of 81564

while there is no obligation to show remorse, oldham's fans equally have no obligation to accept him back ..... as the club is ultimately reliant on its fans, then it would do well to pay attention if the objection is widely enough voiced

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 13:43 - 54580 of 81564

Oldham have now decided not sign Evans. His old club, Sheffield, bowed to fans and threats. Oldham have now bowed to threats. It is a trend in these times. A vociferous minority often has a greater sway than the silent majority. It occurs in many areas such as religion, politics, demonstrations. It gives these minority views a value beyond their worth.

cynic - 08 Jan 2015 13:46 - 54581 of 81564

bowed to threats or bowed to loudly and strongly voiced objections from their fans albeit that some were pretty disgraceful in their content?

stable - 08 Jan 2015 14:04 - 54583 of 81564

cynic, your comments suggest that by not using guns, their objections, however bad, and what can be worse than death threats, are acceptable.

I feel that Evans should have stayed away until his appeal has been heard, but I still support, without agreeing, with those that wish to employ him as I do not think we can live by giving in to threats of any kind

cynic - 08 Jan 2015 14:10 - 54584 of 81564

i didn't write that, or at best you have misinterpreted .... please read both 54582 and 54584 again ..... in a nutshell, the club needs to pay attention to its fans, for no fans = no club

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 14:14 - 54585 of 81564

It is a question of how many fans and do they represent the rest. It seems that people and businesses give in if you shout loud enough even if you are a tiny minority.

cynic - 08 Jan 2015 14:18 - 54586 of 81564

i do not know the full facts as i suspect is the case with you

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:21 - 54587 of 81564

the muslim religion is non religion as moh was a living man who died age 63
and was not a god . or that clever just cleverer than the others .
religion should be wiped out its for the year 2000 when they new no better god does not exist its a fairy tale .

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:24 - 54588 of 81564

Jessica ennis speaks out about a footballer yet she says fcuk all about the druggies in her sport . she says nothing chambers was a druggie yet she allowed him to take part . she only speaks out for her own ends not for the sport .

Jessica ennis must think druggies in her sport is ok that is why I have closed my account with her name

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:28 - 54589 of 81564

druggies kill my children than any accused rape yet our tv is full of athletes on drugs
and thos speaking out are silent once a druggie always a druggie

so if you are honest speak out

stable - 08 Jan 2015 14:30 - 54590 of 81564

With all form of communication available today, with often no way of being able to prove who is making these threats, Oldham fans could be anyone anywhere calling themselves fans, it is very difficult to make judgement.
I do remember the old addage, empty vessells make most noise.
Over the many years it has so often to be true.

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:31 - 54591 of 81564

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:38 - 54594 of 81564

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 14:40 - 54595 of 81564

TANKER
You obviously don't understand Islam. Mohammed was a living man. Muslims don't worship him. He was a prophet. Even Jesus is a prophet in the Muslim religion. They worship Allah (God).

You could at least try and have some basic understanding of what you say.

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 14:44 - 54596 of 81564

how safe are people in the uk as the muslim community say they do not no who are terrorists so do we take it that all muslims are terrorists and should trust not one

hays can you answer this please
