THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

It will be interesting to see the results of the "footballer's" appeal.

I feel that some of the media and other groups are acting vigilantes and elements are vindictive and hounding Evans for their own satisfactions.

I don't know his history, or if he had any previous criminal record or not, even so, if you believe in the law and its application the he has served his term as sentenced and allowed to get on with his life.

=======

I think the various clubs involved appear to be prostituting themselves for financial gain.

But that is capitalism for you.

I know plenty of Muslims and they are no different from anyone else. I know Turkish, Algerian, Pakistani and other Muslims. They lead normal lives like you and others. Some are very religious and some only follow a few rules the same way that other people who believe in other religions. They are not extremists, they don't agree with terrorism. They don't get excited if people mock Islam or Mohammed. To all intents and purposes they are the same as my Jewish acquaintances. They also range from liberal to devout. The same applies to Catholics that I know, Hindus even a Jain (similar to Hindu).

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:07 - 54603 of 81564

hays . so why do they protect the terrorists why do they not speak out why do they
not act . their silence says one thing they are happy to turn a blind eye in my world if my brother was a terrorist I would want him dead

RF

..I dream ahead of terrible events that occur later....(I'm not joking)....sometimes the events are clear sometimes not.....sometimes my thoughts become reality....(I'm not joking)....

But you didn't see Afren shares falling

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 15:17 - 54605 of 81564

I would think that most Muslims don't know anything to report. People involved in terrorist acts are generally very secretive. The number of terrorist acts is very tiny. The numbers who might know is probably even smaller. You are talking about a handful of people.

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:18 - 54606 of 81564

muslims close nit families yet hundreds have gone to fight for terrorist and their close families no nothing. you could not make it up .

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:20 - 54607 of 81564

hays you are to afraid to speak the truth

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 15:20 - 54608 of 81564

Certainly from news stories, their families did not know.

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 15:21 - 54609 of 81564

One piece of good news is that the silly Green party has been denied debate time by Ofcom.

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:24 - 54610 of 81564

hays not my figures but the gov over 1000 muslims have gone to Syria
do you think that is tiny, they must never be allowed back

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:26 - 54611 of 81564

they have gone for the free sex of captive women scum

aldwickk - 08 Jan 2015 15:26 - 54612 of 81564

Why should it take so long to deport or lock up those Muslim clerics who incite violence, the one with the hook and one eye is an example.

TANKER - 08 Jan 2015 15:27 - 54613 of 81564

hays you must support terrorists with your comments fact

aldwickk - 08 Jan 2015 15:30 - 54614 of 81564

TANKER

The Labour party don't support your views , so why are you voting for them in the GE

Fred1new - 08 Jan 2015 15:40 - 54615 of 81564

Trying to get a ballance:

"Volunteers for Spanish Civil war"

Between 1936 and 1939 over 35,000 men and women, from over 50 countries, left their homes to volunteer for the Republican forces. More than 2,300 of these came from Britain, Ireland and the commonwealth, of whom over 500 were killed

How many returned to UK or how many were more villainous before or after the exploits in Spain I don't know.

But I have a "feeling" that the rhetoric from the the government and media has stimulated more "adolescents" to react by "signing" up for the excitement of taking part in a "unfair" war. (Which side is fair, I haven't a clue, neither do some juvenile "revolutionaries".)

Not thinking that the 30s and 2010s equate, or that the dangers are of a similar order, but there are similarities.

I think sometimes a few less uninformed sounds bites would be beneficial and would encourage fewer to obtain fame and fortune.

(But with media set up, ratcheting up emotions for their own profit, it will be "grin" and bear it.)

I wonder if there is anybody producing plastic mementos for yesterday yet?

Haystack - 08 Jan 2015 15:48 - 54616 of 81564

There are around 2.7m Muslims in the UK. If 1,000 have gone to Syria, that is about 3 hundredths of one percent. As I said a tiny number. That leaves around 99.9% plus who would know nothing about it
