After yesterday's Paris shooting, in which four journalists on satirical publication Charlie Hebdo were killed, Muslim activist Anjem Choudary has written an open letter entitled 'People Know The Consequences'.



In the letter, which was published by USA Today, Choudary says: "Contrary to popular misconception, Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone. Therefore, Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people's desires."

Tanker we already have a corrupt police force, I wouldn't go arming them also. If the police carry guns then so would more criminals and so would more normally law abiding people. As a result more shootings would occur... We'd achieve nothing by doing this

As Vince Cable sensibly pointed out last night on QT, we don't have 'Free Speech' in the UK either.

eg. You just cannot go into a cinema or theatre and shout 'Fire!'. It is against the law.

What we do have in this country, is 'Free Speech within the bounds of the law.' This is somewhat different and much more acceptable.

Strange how the Koran and Bible's "myths and fables" can be interpreted according to the individual's "perceived needs".

I suppose its the same freedom of speech that makes me find Anjem Choudary offensive that the Kouachi brothers found in Charlie Hebdo... What this prise nutter doesn't say though is that what a majority might take offence to only a small minority will murder over.

"Muslims do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression" he said, this is clearly an attempt to create a divide, this man doesn't speak for all Muslims, he doesn't speak for most of them, he speaks only for a few idolised Muslims and in all honesty I'm surprised The Independant printed this storey knowing that they would be fanning the flames and adding to the divide...
