THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

So the French are now dealing with multiple situations in Paris.

Key Points

Police surround building containing men suspected of Charlie Hebdo massacre
Hostage taken in siege in Dammartin-en-Goele, north-east of Paris
Earlier, police chased car believed to contain suspects
Brothers Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi wanted over killing of 12 people
Shooting and taking of hostages reported at kosher business in eastern Paris

The BBC have reported The attacker of the kosher shop in Paris was seen carrying two machine guns, reports in the French media say. So much for security being tight in Paris if someone can walk around carrying two machines guns!!

Mean while.

Manuel's non-political football.

Lansley reorganisation seems to have improved the NHS under Hunt and Cameron's administration.

No wonder Cameron is ducking a TV debate. What a creep.

A&E waits in England 'getting worse'

By Nick Triggle
Health correspondent, BBC News

Patient on stretcher

Private firm pulls out of hospital
Six reasons A&Es are struggling

Hospital 'major incidents' persist

Waiting times in A&E units in England have got even worse in the New Year, figures show.

The last three months of 2014 saw performance drop to its lowest level for a decade with just 92.6% of patients seen in four hours.

The data for the week up to Sunday saw 86.7% of patients seen in four hours. The target is 95%.

Elsewhere in the UK the four-hour waiting time target is being missed.

It comes as a number of hospitals have declared "major incidents" in recent weeks.

This signifies they are facing exceptional pressures and triggers extra staff being called in and other steps, including cancelling non-emergency care, such as routine operations.

The latest waiting time figure is the worst since weekly recording began in 2010. The last four weeks have all been the four worst ever recorded.

Private pull-out

The overall figure includes walk-in centres and minor injury units, once they are stripped out the performance of major A&E units has dipped below 80%.

Data has also been published showing other pressures inside hospitals.

Tanker I'd personally shoot anyone silly enough to give the likes of you a gun... I bet you've been shaving your head all morning and polishing up your DM's... Agreed action needs to be taken but you can't categorise the whole Muslim population upon the actions of a few... I would start with the EU's laws on Human Rights and what can be done to quickly remove these radicals before they have chance to poison young minds.

VICTIM - 09 Jan 2015 14:15 - 54712 of 81564

Like you Fred I have been watching various News stations , and can't help thinking some must get turned on by what they see . They give out endless info , expert after expert comes on giving their two bobs worth , telling us now that the authorities must now be stretched and this must be the aim of these people . God help us if the can't cope with these incidents . I can't help but think uses are made of this coverage , to our detrimental effect.

cynic - 09 Jan 2015 14:28 - 54713 of 81564

the incidents are comparatively easy to deal with ..... it's preventing them that is the perpetual challenge ...... now then, who would like to curtail the abilities of GCHQ and similar bodies to snoop and similar? ..... and of course assange has also been of immeasurable benefit to those who wish ill on our society

TANKER - 09 Jan 2015 14:39 - 54714 of 81564

cynic well put .

Fred1new - 09 Jan 2015 14:40 - 54715 of 81564

When they have hostages.

uummmhh.

Depends on the number of mosquitos.

-------

It isn't the snooping which is the problem, but the possible "misuse" which is the problem. (defined by whom, STAZI, KGB standards) .

The other problem with snooping in internet is concerned is that it continues to move and modify encryption rapidly and from one country to another.

Also, it is not the only way of delivering planning.

Another is the cost.

Cutting off the source of funding of "terrorist or liberating" forces is possibly a route to investigate. Probably, already is being done.

Difficult.

Fred1new - 09 Jan 2015 14:46 - 54716 of 81564

PS.

Snooping, under its pretext, may encourage more "industrial" snooping than happens already.

Down playing the reporting by the media may be a route.

But the countries where the "terrorism" initiates may "publicise" the "events" and compare "civil liberties angle" of the information services with those of the "suppressors".

It is a b----g--r.
