Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Thanks however the damage has been done :-(

qwento - 01 Mar 2007 13:36 - 5473 of 7315

Thanks Ian. Your supplier has a lot to answer for. I think you already know my feelings about them !

IanT(MoneyAM) - 01 Mar 2007 13:38 - 5474 of 7315

Again I apologise, and I will keep you up to date when I hear back from them.

Ian

Am so angry and disappointed at this moment, feeling very hard done by and cheated out of money as a result (405). I do appreciate that you specifically are not to blame which is why I am holding fire on losing my cool. Agree with qwento, your supplier has a lot to answer for.

qwento - 01 Mar 2007 13:46 - 5476 of 7315

If you hadn't noticed your UKX (FTSE 100) feed has stalled AGAIN !

IanT(MoneyAM) - 01 Mar 2007 13:49 - 5477 of 7315

qwento,

It is related to the problem our suppliers are aware and are working on it.

Time Traveller - 01 Mar 2007 13:57 - 5478 of 7315

Ian, just to let you know that there are no SCTN trades showing on the system since 1333 today.
As I cannot access streaming Stockwatch I have to look at the trades to see prices.
Is there something that can be done to refresh SCTN?
Thanks,
TT
EDIT:
As soon as I post up comes trades from 1357

IanT(MoneyAM) - 01 Mar 2007 13:58 - 5479 of 7315

TT,

It is a part of the problem we are having we are in discussions with our suppliers at the moment to try and get this resolved.

Rogues on RDSB Ian please.

ianalexanderthegreat - 01 Mar 2007 14:35 - 5484 of 7315

Have logged in and out, yesterdays closing prices still incorrect, also bid and offer on many shares are still not realtime, as for Level2 the bid/offer incorrect only the trades are realtime. All very confusing and far from resolved. Arghhhhhhhhhh

IanT(MoneyAM) - 01 Mar 2007 14:40 - 5485 of 7315

Mr Turbot - 01 Mar 2007 16:18 - 5488 of 7315

IanT(MoneyAM)

Occasionally, whilst I am logged in most of the day, my stockwatch log in changes to that of 'jcannon' and not Mr Turbot. I then switch to Investor's Room and it reverts to the correct log in. When going back to stockwatch it usually logs on as 'jcannon' again. The only way I can correct this is to log off and log on again. It is always 'jcannon's' stockwatch which appears; no other user.
Any ideas??

Mr Turbot

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The market data feed problems are widespread, it seems. Other clients for our DeltaStream technology have had major disruption to both major Reuters feeds in the US this afternoon, so it looks like the problems are upstream of Reuters, ComStock and so on.

[Edited to correct spelling -- thanks Kyoto!]

Kyoto - 01 Mar 2007 18:32 - 5490 of 7315

MM - surely you mean DeltaStream? :-) Or is it called DelatStream on the special days when the data's all jumbled? ;-)

A serious question though - shouldn't someone further up the chain be doing something about this? It's just shocking that there are problems upstream of Reuters and one feels there is a fundamental failure of action somewhere between the LSE, the FSA and the Government, because surely it's in their interest if not their remit to ensure the orderly functioning of the market? It doesn't strike me as orderly when the likes of Reuters and ComStock are being fed false data for half the day two days running. (For the record, even though a lot of the large caps righted themselves during the afternoon, a lot of the small caps had wrong prices to the end).

Plus, and I guess this probably going to be a rhetorical question, what exactly is it with MoneyAM's Level 2 anyway? It seems to fall over a lot, and not just on the volatile days. I seem to be forever getting pop-ups from Etrade saying 'sorry, L2 down again' - although oddly not this week - I think they've given up. Are efforts being made to improve reliability, is it upstream and out of your hands, is this just the way things are always going to be? If it is, OK, I have ADVFN as a backup and they were fine today thankfully, but I'm curious as to whether these problems are solvable or not from MoneyAM's perspective.

greekman - 01 Mar 2007 18:39 - 5491 of 7315

Must add to the above,
I have a portfolio of 4 shares that have all gone up today according to my stockwatch, checked via this site and with another site. Yet my portfolio on moneyam shows down on the day.
I appreciate it is the problem with the supplier but there appears to be regular problems with this supplier.
I have considered Level 2 via moneyam but seeing the many times the system goes wrong puts me off.
I know the staff at moneyam do their best and respond to bugs very quickly (my other site of which I am level 2 could learn a lot from the way this site deals with it's customers, re quick responses), but any chance of a supplier change.
Not so much a moan as a request/inquiry.

Greek.
