Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

We had two problems today, first off we found this morning that the overnight data dump from our supplier(Comstock) was incorrect and gave us the wrong closing prices from yesterday so the system ended up showing incorrect +/- movements. We rebuilt the data bases but this did not happen before open.

Secondly there was a partition issue on some discs which caused the level 2 failure lunchtime. Despite triple redundancy the sheer volume of transactions in the market meant that we could not rebuild order book quick enough on disc recovery.

Generally over the last few months up time has been very very high, so its very disappointing to have a double whammy just when our users need prices.

Kyoto (and anybody else who's interested):

To be fair, I think a lot of systems were under strain with the sheer volume of data. The NYSE applied the 'collar' again in the morning EST to limit the selling trades, but even so the volume was clearly swamping bits of the infrastructure. And let's not forget, it even broke the mighty Dow Jones Index infrastructure yesterday.

Add to that the problems that Bullshare describes, it was just crazy loadings overall and a bit of an additional misfortune for MoneyAM.

Ian and the gang:

This is a problem I've highlighted before.

BRW this morning has a news flag. The story relates to a US stock with the same epic code though. Surely there is a way this sort of thing could be sorted out - BRW should really be BRW.L as far as your suppliers are concerned then the story wouldn't get attached.

The news flag on PRTY from stockwaatch appears to be broken?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 02 Mar 2007 12:33 - 5503 of 7315

kernow,

It works fine here - if nothing happens for you when you clcik on it, it would suggest that a pop up blocker has become enabled on your machine. Either in your browser, any toolbar you have on your browser (like Google, Yahoo etc), or your firewall.

Mr Turbot,

Sorry should have let you know I am awaiting a reply on what may be causing this, and will let you know when I have received that.

Checking the Investors Room thread at 2130 hrs Fri 2nd found no trace of SEO.
Checked several times and there appeared to be a gap of about 1 hour between the bottom entry on page 1 and the top entry on page 2.
I could only find SEO by the search facility.
My portfolio at close also still appears a wrong total. It appears to have added todays increase onto the Wednesdays close and not Thursdays close, giving a wrong total at close today.
Anyone else still having same problems.
